Twisted Taco Express

We have absolutely loved this place in the past. Great food, good portions, staff is kind and attentive. Over the last few months they are heading downhill fast, unable to order and stock basic ingredients. This time it was steak, last time pork, time before was chicken, and so on. Getting worse each time we show up to find most of our order unavailable and staff interest in dealing with it is lacking.

Good food but not worth the high price

The food is good. Food portions and food preparation are inconsistent. Some staff members are friendly and welcoming, and others are definitely not. Food prices have varied greatly for the same order. I've gotten the same thing approximately 10 times over the last 2 months, and the total has varied from highest to lowest by $10.

Awesome tacos. Had the fried avocado and carne asada. Now I wish there was one about 2 hours north.

They recently changed their menu removing chicken & waffle and the crab cake taco (two of my absolute favorites that I use to get every time), not sure but I think some others had been removed too and several others are now "premium"... I tried a few different tacos this past visit and they weren't bad, but without my favorites, I'm not sure I'll be back, they were the main reason I chose to get tacos from here.

So I decided to try Twisted Taco. I got the spicy chicken quesidalla. I was dissapointed in the quality of the food. I am not sure what I was expecting, other than better quality than Taco Bell. I was wrong.

My son and I came in on Taco Tuesday, we got both the soft and hard shell tacos. They were both fresh and full of meat and toppings. The service/staff was also amazing. Very attentive. Dining area was very clean. We will definitely return.

Alright Twisted Taco, you're up!
Visited around 7Pm, an hour before they close, and only one person was ahead of me, but a line was forming quickly as I was waiting so they seem to have a good reputation. Service was quick enough. Not too bad since I only saw two people cooking while 1 was taking the trash.
I got the Three taco offering: 2 Madres and 1 Chicken and Waffle.
Price isn't too bad. Could be a few bucks cheaper, but it doesn't make my wallet cry.
Food: Tacos could have had a little more in them, but I'm pretty sure you can add more things, I just wanted to have them as they come. Chicken was tender. I had the expectation of "crunchy" or "juicy" It kind of lands in the middle. Nothing to write home about, but decent enough to keep the chicken taco hunger at bay til you can get back to the store to make your own. If they could, I would change the chicken coating to a tempura or panko breading. Something to give it a better appeal.
Rice... chewy. I'd love to see an industrial rice maker in there to make and keep the rice while they serve it. Those metal pans are not doing you all any favors.
Black beans were decent. It's hard to ruin black beans. They were cooked and had just enough seasoning for me to notice. Maybe throw in some chilis or red pepper flakes. Not a lot, just enough for a mild kick.
Overall, not bad. I'll be back to try a bowl or some nachos.
I don't feel gross afterwards, so I can add this to the healthier options that are available off of Sandy Plains Rd.

Usually, I follow my gut, if I walk into a restaurant in the middle of lunch and it is empty, typically that means I’m not gonna be happy. Food was Impressive. I purchased the two taco combo, with tip came to almost $16. The steak was bland and barely was warm. It has the feeling of all the food was cooked this morning and put into a warm tray. On a positive note for all the crushed ice fans. This is your place. I always get it sided with crushed ice
