This is the place that I go to when I dont feel like driving too far from home. On this visit, my wonton soup was eatered down and had no flavor. My salt and pepper seafood and shrimp fried rice were just okay. My wife gets the egg foo young with white rice. It was just okay. I'll make the extra drive from now on. They only have take out at this location.

This place almost killed my mom. After eating food from there, she began vomiting uncontrollably. That was about a week ago. She still had stomach pain and couldn’t even eat Christmas dinner. 12/26/23 she finally went back to the doctor. They did bloodwork and diagnosed her with bacterial food poisoning. She is being treated with strong antibiotics. Hopefully she’ll start getting better and be able to eat again soon. I wouldn’t suggest this place to an enemy! Please be aware of what this place can do to your health! I’ve never known my mother to be so sick in her life!! Shame on the county for letting china star remain open! And shame on the owners for serving people poisoned garbage!!!!

I ordered garlic chicken lunch special...terrible food plain and simple. It's as if they replaced all the Chinese seasonings and flavors with salt. Salt is all I tasted besides the over cooked chicken that was stringy and had the flavor of burnt grease. The egg roll was unusual small and full of over cooked mushy vegetables. Hence my search for good Chinese good in McDonough continues. So disappointing...

We’ve been coming here for 8 years and the food portions are way smaller than what they used to be. I understand if they have to raise prices, but raising prices and making the portions smaller is not fair to the customers.Along with that, we only received a total of 2 fortune cookies with our huge order and they did not have the fortune slip in the cookies!

My family recommended we have China Star for dinner. Currently they only have carry out and delivery. We chose to do take out. I went to their location and placed our order. The staff person told me it would take 20 minutes. It took closer to 40 minutes. As I waited, I witnessed how busy they were with new orders and completing previous orders. To me that was a great sign. A restaurant being busy because the food is good is always a great sign. The food was made fresh and was still hot when I returned home. Overall the food was good, the order was correct, and we were all satisfied with the portion sizes (which was large and we could have shared). I recommend China Star.
The food is cooked fresh. The shrimp rolls are delicious and the hunan shrimp has great flavor.
