Victoria was our server and did a great job!! Food was spot on with the name of the restaurant. I wanted something different then the normal fast food or Mexican restaurants that are more available than the waffle houses. I had a fried chicken breast topped with cheese and jalapeño. It was tender moist and delicious. Black eye peas were seasoned good, mac and cheese homemade delicious. Same price or cheaper than any fast food. Also faster than any fast food. I don't really ever give reviews so since I am giving one now you can bet this place deserves more than 5 stars!!

Went in for the first time on a Sunday and was greeted with a long line out the door, I was then told to grab a tray after waiting for about 15 minutes because of the small dining area and them being out of tables I was finally able to move across the line. I chose to get a vegetable plate because they were all out of meat, at least the ones to my liking which is highly strange and unprofessional for a restaurant. Upon fixing my vegetable plate I asked a woman (old appearance with whitish blonde hair) did the turnip greens have pork in them and she insisted me that they didn't.. once I sat down and opened my utensils they were dirty and had to get another pair. I ate my mac&cheese which were extremely watery and leaked onto my cornbread and I wasn't even able to finish it all because it was so disgusting, I then made it to the turnip greens which I was actually looking forward to just for my face to immediately start swelling up with the pork it was made in, I had to rush out to get urgent care and called the restaurant days later for some type of refund and the lady on the phone didn't take the situation seriously and never refunded me. 0/10 do not eat or waste your time here!!

The food was delicious! Lots of fresh veggies with generous portions. Prices were reasonable. I had curbside pickup but the people inside seemed to be enjoying themselves.

I was offended, Its been a long time since I’ve encountered souless soul food. My mac n cheese was soup, the turnip greens were basic, but the only thing I could completely eat, and
the peach cobbler was THE most flavorless cacophony of underbaked lumps, not even a whiff of any seasonings such as cinnamon that are cheap and widely available. I can say that they had the peach to crust ratio correct. There wasn’t even the reprieve of sweet cornbread, they opt for savory. A wasted cheat day for me. 😔

The waitress was friendly. The food was bland and cold from sitting on the bar. I ordered corn nuggets and they were cold. The waitress took them in the back and the cook just refried them in the grease. They came out super greasy. The corn muffin was the only thing I enjoyed. My family and I left hungry and wanting something else to eat.

The food wasn’t good at all. The baked chicken, rice, and gravy was extremely bland. It tasted as if very little seasonings were added. I don’t see how these reviews are so high. The sweet tea was good though.

Nice staff & large selection. The food leaves something to be desired. I had mac, greens and fried chicken tenders. I guess this is the difference between southern comfort food and soul food(to be fair, they dont claim to be SF). There is enough salt but it lacks flavor from herbs, shallots, onions, garlic, etc. The Mac looked really good in the steamer... upon tasting it, it had enough salt but it was loose and the noodles were over cooked.
Just like some of the other reviews stated, yes the chicken was dry.
Over all the feel of the restaurant is like a smaller Picadilly if you are old enough to remember those or live close to one. It was a couple of bucks over priced for the portion. It's a high volume and friendly setting. I'd try it again, but I'm skipping the chicken for sure.

Ordered food to go yesterday and the cashier through my food on the counter. It was so disrespectful. I wont be back.

If you want some good country cooking, this is where you want to be. The homemade mashed potatoes are out of this world. Friendly staff and servers. Great place.
