We have been eating at Pippins for decades! Best overall BBQ on the south side (IMHO). Their BBQ is the standard we judge all other BBQ by. Their pulled pork is great. Their slaw is the only slaw I eat at any restaurant. Their Brunswick stew is hands down the best anywhere!! I love brisket but have never tried Pippins’ brisket until tonight…..and all but two bites went in the trash. The brisket had a very rubbery texture when chewed and had an odd taste…..hubs thought...
Very good meat portion on the pulled pork sandwich. Loved the pickle on top of the bun, unique.
The mild bbq sauce was thin and had too much of a ketchup flavor for my own liking…I am absolutely aware bbq sauce has a ketchup base.
I will absolutely be back and try the hot bbq sauce.
