My now husband and I had the most gorgeous wedding at the Hazlehurst House back in April and I cannot say enough how great the experience was! Holly and her team were so extremely helpful throughout the year-long process of planning the event - from food tastings to floral meetings, venue tours and tablescape planning, everyone was so involved in the best way and we felt very supported in all of our decisions regarding the event. The Hazlehurst team never made me feel like my ideas or requests were too big or too small and truly brought out wedding vision to life!
The day of the wedding went so smoothly - I don't think a single thing truly went wrong! The grounds looked amazing, the gardens were in full bloom, the service from wait staff was great, and guests are still talking about how much they loved the food, cake, and cocktails! All of my outside vendors had great things to say about working with the venue and our guests truly loved the experience. They took great care of me and my bridal party and did everything they could to make the day as stress-free as possible! Being from McDonough, I'm so glad our city has a place like the Hazlehurst House for all of life's big moments.

The most beautiful venue my family, friends and I have ever seen. The grounds were just stunning and incredibly well maintained. With the home being a historical, you can tell the detail and love that the staff have for preserving it’s integrity. The home was beautifully decorated and highlighted the history of the home, yet brought a fresh and elevated southern style. The staff working my event didn’t feel like staff, they felt like friends! Everyone could tell the staff loved what they did and genuinely enjoyed making the event perfect for the guests. Truly the best day! Parking, food, and cocktails were also fantastic. Thank you HH!!

My spouse and I were married here September 2023 and utilizing Hazelhurst house was by far our best decision! The grounds are well manicured, the house is beautiful but most importantly, our entire wedding staff was amazing but our wedding coordinator, Ashley, was phenomenal! She truly made us feel loved, supported and most importantly, heard. This review could easily be 20 paragraphs long but to keep it simple and sweet, you won’t regret this venue. Very exceptional folks and venue!Only real hiccups we had was florist in the beginning of the process but we were able to find an amazing florist, so worked out perfectly!Our DJ was very nice but was not the best MC, wish we would have spent more time on that aspect.Thank you Hazelhurst House! I cannot rate Hazlehurst House high enough!! They were absolutely amazing to work with and my daughter’s wedding was truly the most special, magical day!Less than 4 months to go until my daughters September 23rd wedding day, we received an email from our original venue (*NOT Hazlehurst House*) stating they were closing it’s doors effective immediately and cancelling all of the upcoming weddings!! It was absolutely shocking! They had all of our money, invitations had just been printed and couldn’t be salvaged, and hotel rooms had already been booked (75% of our guests are from out of state). Side note: buy wedding insurance - yup, it's a thing!It was hard enough to find a venue that could accommodate 200 guests and now we needed to find another one on such short notice. Thank goodness we found Hazlehurst House, and they just happened to have the date available!!We weren’t sure if it was big enough for our guest count, but Riley was determined to make it work! She spent hours going over indoor vs outdoor set-ups and table schematics, she truly is a rock star! We ended up with 18 or 19 tables inside and 1 large kids table outside and it was perfect!Carisa was INCREDIBLE. She was so accommodating and the time and attention she gave us went above and beyond! Obviously it was a super stressful time for all of us, but Carisa did everything she could to make sure that my daughter’s wedding was perfect, even with less than 4 months to go! She was in constant contact to answer all of my (many) questions, give suggestions, calm my nerves, provide referrals, and much much more!They were very accommodating with their time. I made multiple trips down to measure and take pictures, to look at table set-ups, and to even time the walk down the aisle, etc. They were flexible throughout the process, and the communication was truly remarkable!The grounds are STUNNING - no ceremony decor needed - we did a little green garland around the alter but anything more would distract from how gorgeous it is! So many photo ops nestled around the property, our photographer could have taken photos for hours!!Guests are still calling and texting saying it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to! Guests are still raving about the food saying it was the best wedding meal they’d ever had! And guests are still talking about how amazing the service was…the staff were hustling all night long - they were so attentive, there wasn’t an empty glass of champagne or a dirty dish on a table. They were wonderful!Hazlehurst House’s attention to detail was mind-blowing, here are just a few examples:* It was a warm day so they provided ice water and iced tea upon guests arrival* Provided a light lunch in the Bride’s Room & Groom’s room (delicious)!* Had champagne and Hors d'oeuvres waiting for bride, groom, bridal party and parents directly following ceremony to sign marriage certificate and wait for guests to move to cocktail hour* They had the bride’s comfy reception shoes already placed under her seat at the reception, so when she sat down for dinner they were waiting for her* Moved guest book and gifts from ceremony to reception location* At the end of the evening the staff bagged up all the personal items from the bridal suite in individual bags for the bridesmaids and brought them over to the ballroom. They were all labeled and lined up ready for the bridesmaids as they left the reception!The only thing negative is that the city of McDonough has a noise ordinance so the night had to end at 10:30. The guests were having such a good time, nobody wanted to leave!If you want a beautiful, classic, elegant, romantic, timeless, no hassle, wedding - call Hazlehurst House!!
