This was my first time at Buckalew’s and it didn’t disappoint. The food was fresh and fantastic. The service was excellent and I loved the atmosphere.

Outstanding food. Probably the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had. Can’t say enough good things.

The place is so cute! We stopped by on a road trip. The food was good to okay, unfortunately since the reviews hyped it up so much. Fav was the brisket, good as can be, tender and little fat (if any!) The Brunswick stew was weird, it tasted... old? Not fresh. A bit like sinkwater. Still had a certain appeal, but def didn't have me wanting more. Everything else was fine, a little mid. The beans are quite sweet, could be a hit or miss. Banana pudding lacked some depth and love as well. Good fries!

This is a great quaint BBQ restaurant. The brisket is amazing. It is seasoned well. No sauce needed.

Great Food! Great Portions! Great Prices! 🍖
Cute resturant, clean as a pin. Next to Railroad tracks so location can be really loud. Food was ok and service eager to help. Bathroom clean but bathroom door lock not working. Parking plentiful.

Great small town place to stop for a bite! We went there at the height of the supper hour on a Saturday and had a really good meal.
I had the brisket plate and asked for lean cuts and that is exactly what I got. Very tasty! Fried okra was also a treat, and plenty of it. Cole slaw is fairly wet and not sweet at all, more like I'm used to. The tea was good.
Their house BBQ sauce is really a star. It is sweet with a hint of smoke. I also tried the Carolina mustard BBQ and the vinegar, which reminds me of the sauce where I'm originally from in the hills of NC. They were both really good too. I didn't try the spicy, but those who did liked it, and they also have Alabama white BBQ sauce.
Super friendly folks here! They had a band playing live music out back and I told the lady who appeared to own the place "Thank you for doing this," and she replied "It's what we do. It's Southern hospitality." 'nuff said, there you have it, folks!
