We went there a few weeks ago coming back from out of town. My wife placed an order to go. The app stated would be ready at 6. Walk in at 6 and took 15 minutes for the order. When the nice young lady brought it out some there were a few mistakes. I started eating the French Fries as they started to get cold. 10 more minutes the correct items were brought out. When we got home she realized the bark was missing. I didn’t know she ordered or I would have checked before we left. The ribs we couldn’t eat and we were very disappointed.
Since past experience Les were good I thought I would give the owner a chance to make it right. I emailed and sent 2 letters to the owner. No replies.
We will not be back and not recommend.

We've been here several times over the last few years and always thought it was the best but the last three times we've been here the food has gone from bad to worst. The Brunswick stew was burned this last time but it's been going down hill for some time. I believe thw recipe changed and not for the good. We had the pulled chicken which was just ok. Please go back to the old recipe for the stew.

This is the FIRST BBQ place that I actually enjoyed in GA. Sorry to say that folks but, every other place I've been to turns the pulled anything into the consistency of mush. This had GREAT flavor and big delicious shreds of meat. We are happy we came even on the busiest day during the fall fest. Thank you!!!

When Pig’s Fly BBQ is nothing short of AMAZING!

Piedmont Soccer Academy recently partnered with them for a fundraiser to help raise money for new soccer goals, and we could not be more grateful. From start to finish, their staff was incredible—professional, friendly, and genuinely invested in making sure everything went smoothly for our families and supporters.

And let’s talk about the food… the Boston butts were out of this world! Tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection—everyone raved about them. It’s no surprise they sold so well, because when quality meets care, you just can’t go wrong.

At Piedmont Soccer Academy, we truly appreciate their support of our players and community. It’s businesses like When Pig’s Fly BBQ that make a lasting impact far beyond the dinner table. We strongly encourage everyone to give them a try—you’ll not only get some of the best BBQ around, but you’ll also be supporting a business that gives back in a big way.

Thank you, When Pig’s Fly BBQ, for helping us reach our goals—literally!

This is the place for bbq in UGA country! The Turkey Plate with two sides (Mac and cheese and side salad) were outstanding! I paired the Turkey with their sweet bbq sauce and their spicy one. It was sublime! My wife had the pulled chicken with sides of green beans and fried okra. She loved it, too! The portions are very generous. Service is done with distinct Southern charm and friendliness! We’re even buying quarts of their sauce for our son’s wedding reception! Go to When Pigs Fly…you will not regret it!

I ordered the three meat plate. One was the fatty part of the brisket, couldn’t swallow a bite without chasing it with a drink it was so dry. Same with the turkey, it was very dry. I also ordered the ribs but they didn’t give them to me, guess they were out and that’s why I had so much brisket on my plate. I was really disappointed because you could smell this place over a block away. The staff was really nice and welcoming.

When the restaurant first opened, the bbq and the sides were very good! But the last few times I was there, the bbq was so dry, overcooked, and had large amounts of fat in the meat! The potato salad was so dry and the potatoes in it were not cooked! I am not sure if the owners changed or what has changed! I will probably not be a regular customer from now on!

Now I remember why I haven't been here in a while..
They were generous to let us wait for our party. I appreciate that.
The children's high chair was so sticky and matted with grease as well as crumbs still.in the seat as it was delivered. I gave up after I tried to clean it with thier own product. The tables were the same. General wipe downs on surfaces, but debris and food remnants left in the cracks and on the table surfaces.
As we ordered, it took 45 minutes for it to arrive. And my meal was forgotten.
When I brought it to thier attention, they were appreciative that I didn't have fries, or it would have taken longer.
The fried pickles appetizer was so oily that the wrapper collected over 2 tablespoons of oil in the basket. We tried, but we couldn't stomach it.
When my meal did arrive, the brisket was room tempature, and the Mac and cheese was oily.
A breakdown of the rest.
-the salmon and rice pilaf special
Salmon was pretty decent, well cooked and seasoned right
The rice pilaf, over cooked and drenched in lemon. Could not eat it.
The asparagus, over cooked, drenched in lemon to hide it. Inedible.

No apologies, no visits from a manager. Just faces that looked and hoped we woud just leave and not say anything.

Maybe I'll try again in another year. But I won't be coming back anytime soon.
