This place has the best food in the south! We travel for a living and stop here every time we can. I always get the meatloaf. My husband gets the beef tips with rice. The bread pudding is amazing ?

A very nice wholesome, neat, clean, bright family eating atmosphere, my first visit here (Sunday afternoon). The staff were great, very friendly. And of course, the food was delicious. If one is looking for some good eats & in need of some home style like grandma Sunday prepared cooking in a beautiful home. One has give The Swanson a try, one will not be disappointed, unless your taste buds don't work. LOL Added note: it's location setting is beautiful. Appreciating how nice it's surroundings are just makes having a meal here that much more enjoyable.
What a wonderful dining experience. Great southern menus, with scratch cooking with true care. The staff is wonderful and always available to fill a glass of sweet tea when it is nearly empty. We will be back on our next visit to Perry.

Awesome southern food and amazing service!Loved the southern sampler !Fried green tomatoes and lightly battered with fresh green tomatoes ?. The pimento cheese ? was so good with a cranberry jam. The deviled egg was super light ✨️ with pickles and lots of flavor.Don't forget the sweet tea!The star of the show are the mini biscuits with a buttery flavor!

A true gem of a restaurant and staff, we plan to come back here as often as possible. We were in town for a friends wedding and The Swanson was recommended by the bride and groom. It was so good the first morning we went back the second morning before leaving Perry. If you enjoy southern comfort food, nothing disappoints. We tried probably 10 different items in the two visits and they were all wonderful. The staff is kind, attentive, and professional.Since it was so impressive, we asked to compliment the manager personally who was present and personally checking on the entire restaurant himself during our visit. I’m paraphrasing, but he said that they’ve worked hard to create a friendly and professional family environment that’s great to work in, which translates to a better experience for the customer.It worked, they work, love this place!

The absolute best place this Texan has found for good home cooked food that you grew up on. With all of my traveling I have searched for the best chicken fried steak with sides and this place wins it hands down! One of, if not the best I've had outside of Texas! The lil cornbread or biscuits are something im also hooked on. Large portions, consistent flavors and a fair price keep me here 2-3 times a week. The girls that serve the place are really nice and friendly with ya, always smiles and quick service and they treat you as a guest. Highly recommend this joint to the weary travelers looking for a taste of home...just make sure to check your bag on the way out ?
