The Swanson is one of our favorite places to eat in Perry. We go regularly and the food is always top shelf. We went there for lunch recently and were served by Samantha. Very attentive, cheerful and efficient server. I had the French Dip sandwich with a side of fried okra. Best French Dip I have ever had. Served on a light Leidenheimer roll, the au jus was so good I couldn't wait for the next bite. The fried okra is legendary. My wife doesn't even like fried...
My husband and I went here for our Anniversary lunch date.
The place looks really neat, it has a chic, dolly vibe to it. Quite looks and feels homey too rather than heavy and fancy vibe. The chic vibe actually pairs well with the cozy town look.
Price of the food is reasonable and portion is just right, again, not like the fancy places that gives you a big plate with bite-sized food and hundreds of garnish you don't eat.

Ate their Friday the 15th August 2025 about 5:30. 6 of us. Food was ok. Chicken salad was dry this time, chicken fried steak was like a potatoe chips ( couldn't eat), fried okra was burnt. Baked chicken was good but the giblet gravy wasn't giblet gravy. Chicken and dumplings was good. Hamburger was ok. Prices were good.
