We visited this restaurant today for the first time. The hostess was very friendly and seated us in a worn booth. The waitress came to the table and sneezed!!! I was ready to go but it appeared my husband preferred to stay for the full negative dining experience. We ordered a Taco Salad to share. The salad was delivered to the table with the plate filled with water. It was horrible. I could not eat it.We received the check and waited, waited then waited longer for the waitress to check us out. I stood up to get her attention. She went to the rear of the dining room, hid behind the column while she spoke to a male employee. She retrieved the check with an attitude. I'm done.

This place has cajones! Right in front of La Parilla! But it makes sense why. Their food is so good and so are their drinks. Place is super clean and staff is very friendly. I'm still partial to La Parilla, but I'd be lying if I said this place isn't just about as good.

Been living in the area for over 20 years when I cheat on Los Portales by going to another Mexican restaurant I have bad experiences. If you want Fresh that your stomach will thank you for later eat here...seriously. The family that owns the place is super sweet.

The owner must to fix the frickin AC is very hot inside, somebody have to do a complain with the labor department, i don't know how the employees are working in those conditions

Normally I would say this is the best place to eat But here lately if you want good food from them you have to sit there at a table order it eat it there to make sure it's 100% what you wantDoes the past few times I've orderedThey left something out and my feet is or my nachos like the first time it wasI believe taking this time it's the shrimp so I called not to take the food back or anything like that God forbid I live 30 minutes away I just wanted the manager to know that after speaking with her and everybody saying they didn't place the order and giving her all the information off the ticket so I don't have to drive back up there 30 minutes she finally finds a ticket and she confirmed that they didn't make it rightBut yeah just FYI if you're ordering anything check it before you leave

Consistently great food. Makes my crazy special order without making me feel like I am inconveniencing them. We used to sit and watch everyone play trivia because it was a hoot. Cant wait for that to come back. The staff has always been kind and made their best effort. It has been hard during COVID and even now while hiring is so difficult. Wont catch me anywhere else for my Mexican fix!

Over cooked rice, what appears to be sour cream in guacamole, gross mushrooms, streak that is lack luster and sad. Absolutely do not go here if you like Mexican. Never ordering from here again.
I have been coming here for about 7 months and after our first visit, we were so excited to find this gem. But every visit afterwards has continually gone downhill. The food is consistently great (although it takes a while to get) and the prices are great, but the customer service is terrible no matter how slow they are. The wait staff acts like your presence bothers them. I can never get a drink refilled. And one waiter keeps an air pod in at all times and makes you feel like he doesn't care to speak to you. We will just take our business to somewhere that cares

The staff was so nice to us they lets us come in almost at closing and we had a big group. The food was so good even though it was so late and the staff was still very nice unlike the people across the street at la parilla who kicked us out hours before closing just because we had a big group. Definitely recommend los portales instead.
