What started as a great evening ended on a sour note. Food and wine choices excellent Prices fair for caliber of restaurant. One poor choice we made was the corn bread It was dry and tasteless. We were having a great evening until a large group of golfers came in. I understand that it is a restaurant assoc. with a golf resort but It is marketed as high end, not a pub Unfortunately they were way too loud for the setting and spoiled the night for many other diners who Scrambled to move their tables away from this group I understand the crowd/ noise level is out of management's control but the acoustics of the restaurant magnified the problem Additionally, the level of service fell off for diners at tables of 2 and 4 once some larger groups came in I feel the wait staff should be better trained to monitor the tables they are already serving so their evening does not suffer at expense of newer diners coming in. I would not tell people not to go because it truly is a lovely place but just know this going in. The crowd situation was a one-off ;but , the service could be improved upon.
We had a lovely dinner looking out over the mountains. Our server was attentive and friendly. We had a very enjoyable experience. The food was exceptional
Great atmosphere, food was good. Took way too long to get our food and the staff apologized.
Our soup came out cold and our burnt ends were very tough. Rest of food was pretty average.
Cioppino and mussels both overly spiced, big salad came without dressing and only iceberg lettuce; duck breast salad had four strips of totally flavorless duck. And it was VERY loud.
The scenery is great, but food not so much. Would not recommend eating here, maybe a cocktail.
Wonderful staff, food and scenery. Have been to The Creag many times and have never been disappointed.
Our waitress Jen was great. We ordered 2 glasses of wine, the Trout and the chicken bucatini. The bucatini was good but the chicken was fatty and I couldn't eat those parts. The atmosphere was incredibly beautiful! The Trout was enjoyed by my wife.
We had a party of 4. One was unhappy with the chicken dish and told the server. She summoned a manager who "explained" the chicken entree but offered nothing , like a different entree. He didn't eat his entree and obviously was unsatisfied but neither the waitress or the manager showed any interest or concern. No offer of any remedy or consideration. This is really bad form for a high end restaurant. Not sure we would ever go again.
Beautiful restaurant and bar. The view is awesome. The tables needed table cloths or placemats at this price point. Our table was dirty the entire time and I had to ask the server to clean it. The chairs are super heavy and every time you scoot them it was like nails on a chalkboard. The hush puppies were to die for. I would go there just for those. The mussels were fine but nothing to write home about. The filet and Mediterranean salad were bland and had no flavor. Had to ask for extra sauce and dressing in hopes to get some flavor which didn't help and we were charged 5.50 for. The server was less than attentive. We could have each had another glass of wine but could never find her. We ordered the hot cookie for dessert that was not hot and was pretty much hard. It was my birthday so you would think a nice restaurant would do a candle or something. They comped the cookie for my birthday which was nice and the hush puppies. It was still $100 per person. I would expect more in regards to service from a restaurant of this caliber.

Dinner with the grandkids. Although they have to be on their best behavior, they love coming here... kids menu, mocktails and the outdoor space! Cayden, our server, was fantastic; friendly, professional and attentive... we'd love for her to wait on us on our next visit!
Our dining experience for lunch at The Creag was pretty average. In terms of the food, the trout dip starter was delicious. My daughter liked her blackened fish sandwich with side Caesar. I had the soup and chicken sandwich combo. The chicken sandwich was good, but the soup was pretty poor. I was initially told the soup with the combo was a Southwest soup, but when my order arrived, they brought tomato soup. I asked the server about the switch and she apologized and said she would replace it with the other. After quite a wait, the server brought out what I guess was supposed to be Southwest soup. I should have just kept the tomato soup because the replacement soup wasn't good and I actually wondered if they just threw it together after the server said that was the soup of the day. Service was on the slow side. It took a while for the server to come to the table after I was seated. She was pleasant though and seemed like maybe she was new and getting the hang of things. The hostess at the front was helpful and also pitched in with refilling beverages, dealing with the soup issue etc. One suggestion - since The Creag is on Open Table and allows non-McLemore diners, it would be good to put an actual sign saying “The Creag” on the outside of the building. I had no clue where I was going other than the gate guy telling me to go to the end of the road at the top of the hill. After wandering around a bit, I found the place by trial and error. We found it humorous that there are multiple signs at the doors to the clubhouse that advise men that hats are not allowed and to remove them. We saw no less than 5 men with golf hats on in the restaurant. I would give the Creag another try. Most of the items we had were good and they have a nice variety of offerings on the menu.
We had requested a table by the window for the view to celebrate our 19th anniversary and unfortunately there were no 2 tops available. We were put towards the back of the restaurant by a pillar very close to 2 other couples. The food was delicious and service was on point otherwise.
We had a wonderful experience! The Tuna tartare, veal chop and beef filet were outstanding. Betsy gave us great service and the view/ambiance couldn't get any better. We hope to return and soon!
Beautiful restaurant with great food! I had the blackened red fish sandwhich! It was excellent!
