Stoney River looks unassuming on the outside. The interior is warm and inviting. I have been twice now and the food is excellent. I sat at the bar for lunch and it was a quiet day. The bartender/server seemed not interested in seeing if I wanted another drink after my order was placed. I also received no bread despite other tables having bread service. I had to ask the food runner for a second drink when she dropped off my entree. Still, only 3/4th of the way through my meal did the bartender come from the back of the kitchen asking if I wanted anything else. Poor form. Attentiveness was lacking and I assume promptness was held hostage in the back of kitchen since the bartender preferred being back there.

First experience here and I will say luckily the food is amazing so I will try again after horrible experience.. Husband made reservations everything was going smoothly until it came time to order drinks from the bar which took a very long time, was my first concern just for wine.. also our server not bringing us bread to the table. Then we get our steaks to not have steak knives so I proceeded to call server over at this point I’m still pleasantly trying to enjoy the experience, server puts steaks knives on table very dramatically and makes it seem as if we are asking so much for knives we should have already gotten.. Now comes the time to get check, server then asks my husband will it be one check or two.. Kinda felt that was rude on his behalf and rubbed me the wrong way. I laughed it off and said to my husband you would have thought spending this much money out they would pay attention to details with the people they are serving.. Left without dessert because server never offered desert menu so we were under impression they didn’t have any..

My family (of 4) was anticipating a wonderful evening to celebrate my son’s birthday. I don’t often spend $200+ for dinner on our family, but it was a special night. The first inkling that there maybe problems was that the actual server who would be waiting on us took a long time to drop by to even ask for a drink order. Not a big deal so far. It was a simple order, 3 soft drinks and one dirty martini. ‘Great! We have our drink order in. We should be in business now. But then the waiting for the server began- this would become the theme of the evening. I’m not sure how long it was, but it was long enough that the internal clock inside all our heads began to alarm. “She’s forgotten about us”, someone said, and our food order isn’t even in.Finally, the soft drinks arrive but not my wife’s dirty Martini. And we still haven’t ordered. We stacked and placed our menus on the isle side of the table to indication that we are ready to order and oh, by the way, we need refills on the soft drinks. The martini arrives but before my wife can say anything, the server is gone. It’s a martini but my wife tells me,”Its not dirty”. I wanted my wife to have what she wanted. I knew our server would not be passing by anytime soon, so I took it to the bar myself to fix it (Olives with a little olive juice).Just as the martini arrived our server returned with some bread and we ordered. “Great, now I can rejoin our celebration and stop being distracted trying to flag down servers and fix incorrect drinks”.One of my favorite things to eat is a ribeye. I don’t get the opportunity very often, and I’ve been looking forward to this steak. Don’t judge me here - but I really like steak sauce with my steak. And I don’t want it 10 minutes after the hot steak arrives, I’d like it while the steak is hot. Once the steak leaves the oven you’re on a strict count down. It’s tantamount to McDonald’s fries; amazing hot - stale packing peanuts cold. Now I’m no restaurant insider, but it seems when food is served in nicer restaurants by support staff, there must communication that the person dropping the food tells the server, “Your table needs this-and-that”. And the main server eventually brings the ‘this-and-that’ later. But in the case of steak and steak sauce it’s long after it’s needed. So I’m trying to find our server, or any server to bring the sauce ‘before’ the steak arrives.Problem is, now that we have placed our order we are in table desert; server wilderness. I can’t get arrested in this place. As I’m investing more and more time attempting to get some preemptive steak sauce, I realize that I’m so distracted trying I’m missing my time with my family. Please understand, I’m in no hurry. It’s a celebration after all and I want to savor the moment. But with an initiative server, meant every step of the meal was an exercise in needing something with no ability to get it.In time, our food arrives - no steak sauce because I haven’t been able to get anyone’s attention. So I ask the lady (not our server) dropping the steaks off, “Can I get some steak sauce?” (and I tried to say the next part without sounding like a total tool) “Can I get it while the steak is hot?” She smiles and agrees, but I can see it behind her eyes, she’s thinking, “I’ll tell that to the main server”. Noooooooooo! (High camera angle on me as I raise my fist in the air cursing the air. Oh, and it raining.) This is what plays in my mind as I realize I’m never going to get steak sauce AND a hot steak in the same universe, not in this lifetime. Then what may have been the ultimate insult to the evening… I look at my sizzling hot ribeye, having come to terms with my fait of no sauce with a hot steak. I reach for the knife to devour this glistening 12 ounces of goodness to only then discover - we have no knives!Panic! The hot steak window is closing. I look for our server, any server, a janitor, anyone. In desperation I go to the hostess stand.“Can I get some steak knives? Oh, and some sauce would be fantastic.”Not a good experience.

Food was excellent. Service, on the other hand was not. Got there about 6:15 and they were not busy but it took about 15-20 minutes to get our drinks from the bar. Service very definitely left something to be desired.

Stoney River is hands down one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that sets the stage for an unforgettable meal. The service is top-notch - attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu offerings. Speaking of the menu, every dish we tried was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection, and presented beautifully. Whether you're in the mood for a perfectly seared steak or fresh seafood, Stoney River delivers on all fronts. The attention to detail and commitment to quality shine through in every aspect of the dining experience. I can't recommend Stoney River enough - it's a five-star dining destination without a doubt!

Stoney River is a consistent classic. I came here to celebrate my birthday. We had great service and great food. We had the shrimp toast to start. I highly recommend. French onion soup was next and that was equally as good. We both had steaks which were delicious. We ended with the key lime pie which was one of the best I've had. I recommend this restaurant if you're looking for something with an upscale feel but not too stuffy. We will be back soon.

The atmosphere is everything here. My key reason for saying this is because of the bar area with the fireplace. I am literally longing to return to sit this area to enjoy good company and a beverage. This is an upscale spot. I am an appetizer girl - highly reccommend the deviled eggs were delicious. As for my entrée, I was not feeling steak so I ordered the burger. It was an average burger and did not reheat well. The fries were delicious. Next time go, I will be ordering a chicken dish. We shall see how that goes. To be continued.....
