This is a great spot! Food and service was great. So glad it was open Sunday evening 3/3/24. The double cheeseburger I had was very, very good.

food was good but $6 orange juice?! yall gotta send somebody down to florida to grab a cup with each order? not to mention when you order orange juice they don’t ask you what size, they just give you the most expensive one. that’s icky.

No place is perfect and can be expected to be spot on 100% of the time.Sunday morning seemed to have been a bit overwhelmingly busy for them.Granted, it was rainy out and the public tends to become restless and goes to places to ride out the gloominess.Nonetheless, the breakfast steak was requested to be cooked medium rare and the eggs lightly scrambled.Regrettably, the eggs were hard knots and the steak was just south of shoe leather. They preseason the steak with a house-blended rub that has an unknown ingredient that is beyond inappropriate for the palette. Celtic Salt only or SPG would be more than adequate. The grits are excellent with the exception being more than a few slight spoonfuls for a serving.

Left after waiting over an hour for eggs and pancakes. Waiter had no clue how much longer we had to wait for food to arrive. It was pretty obvious no one was managing the restaurant. We won't be back.

While visiting St. Simon island I wanted breakfast and yelp recommended Chubs restaurant. First it has tons of parking space . After entering I was greeted by a couple of friendly ladies behind the counter. One the most polite people I have ever met . I had the biscuits and gravy ( well seasoned) gravy and eggs with andouille sausage. It was wonderful and a lot of flavor. I didn't take any pictures of the food I sat at the counter and felt kinda weird taking a food pic. So I am looking at their specials and on Thursday it's 12 hour pot roast . But on Friday it's whole fried catfish . So I asked my server even though it's Thursday can I have catfish. My wife loves catfish and since we were driving back to miami it would be great to eat at a rest stop. She asked the chef and he said yeah ....so after checking out I went back to Chubs and picked up 2 orders of freaking awesome fried catfish with extra tater sauce. Catfish and chips was perfect didn't care much for the coleslaw. But if you ever in that area just stop and have breakfast at chubs.. Now the only negative I have is I wish the cooks had on hairnets . Next time I am going there gonna bring my brother the cook a jamaican skully.

Left Sea Island and wanted pancakes, found this restaurant on Yelp and exuded to try it. The layout is similar to Waffle House, seats at a high area overlooking the grill and booths. We both had cakes and I'm giving them a 3. Service was great!

Chubs is under new ownership, and so far this low-key diner in the former Huddle House location looks like a winner...great addition to the neighborhood and I hope they stick around.

Where do we start!??? The greetings walking in were so welcoming!! Friendly staff wanting to make sure you are happy and comfortable, thank you! We asked what top sellers for breakfast were and the Carnivore and Three Little Pigs did not disappoint! We devoured all of our food!! Soooooooooo delicious!! There was no room for dessert:( We WILL BE BACK!! Great job yall!!

Chubbs is under new ownership and has extended its hours. We tried it today for the first time. BLT was good, with red, ripe tomatoes and decent quality bread. The rather thin bacon was okay but not outstanding, it was slightly overcooked. Their “pickled broccoli cole slaw” was tasty and fresh. The coffee was above average, not quite to coffee shop/coffee snob level, but quite good and thankfully on the strong side rather than thin or weak. Scrambled eggs were very good, biscuit was mediocre at best, grits were quite good, and again, the bacon was well-done and just okay (not thick cut if that’s your thing). Service was prompt and attentive, maybe a bit overly effusive in the early days of this version of the restaurant. Cost was reasonable compared with other nearby eateries. In fact, this might be the bargain of this particular neighborhood.
