Whenever I'm near the causeway & hungry, my choice is Coastal Kitchen. I'm so glad they have reopened. The remodel is amazing!! I usually go on my own to read or with my pooch & sit on the patio to watch the water. My fave is the grilled calamari (can't find anywhere else at this coast) with a salad & a glass of wine (of which, they have good options). Can't wait to return!

Met a friend for dinner and drinks on a Thursday night shortly after 5pm. Very nice atmosphere. Promptly greeted as soon as I walked in and taken to where a friend was sitting. Maggie was our exceptional server. We shared a fried calamari appetizer, made perfectly and chili sauce was tasty and not overwhelming. We both ordered the lobster and crab ravioli. Delicious! Cream sauce not heavy, which I appreciated. No dessert ordered. I did order an espresso martini (made fresh and not from a machine like another popular restaurant on SSI) and a cosmopolitan. Both were made to perfection. My friend ordered a very dirty martini and she enjoyed hers as well. We were allowed to sit and talk for about an hour after we finished eating and were not rushed at all. Left by 8pm. Very satisfied, will definitely be going again!

This place is absolutely AMAZING! The food, and service provided by all of the staff! The Ambiance, the decor, the renovations are absolutely stunning. It absolutely exceeded my expectations! If you haven’t been here make it your next stop! One of the BEST wine by the glass menu’s by far on the island! And great prices on food and drinks. I didn’t get a photo of the lobster nachos or the crab cake because they were so irresistible I already started to enjoy it before taking a picture. The manager/ owner Mr. Carter stopped to see how everything was. He was super friendly and personable that he even crafted me a custom expresso martini when I let him know my preferences. They went above and beyond and I will definitely be back! Great Job team!

Our dinner experience at Coastal Kitchen since their renovations was beyond our expectations. It now has a beautiful upscale beach vibe that matches the outstanding views of the marina and beyond. The food, cocktails and service were outstanding. We had a party of four and all our entrees were different and delicious. We will definitely be back!

I had the opportunity to visit Country Kitchen on/at/in lol St. Simons Island on my birthday. This has been the best unexpected experience (I have ever had). I just wanted to have a nice birthday dinner alone and catch a glimpse of the sunset but I truly got more than I bargained for.
Located at Morningstar Marinas, I was met by Maggie and she checked me in for my reservation, ( make a reservation please). It turns out that she was also my server. I let her know it was my birthday and I brought my appetite. I ordered the crab cake and a cup of gumbo for my appetizers.
While waiting on my Lobster and Crab Ravioli, I met Carter ( manager/owner). He came up and introduced himself, he’s such a gentleman. I was amazed that they had recently had reopened. I also got to meet a few of the rest of the staff as they came by my table to tell me Happy Birthday (that truly made my night). I could tell that they love their jobs and they are treated very well by management because everyone that I came in contact with made me feel like I was truly wanted there.
I sat outside on the deck by myself ( I love nature) but I noticed that the inside was almost full of guests (on a Monday evening), which made me know that I’m not the only one who likes Coastal Kitchen.
I’m gonna wrap this up (because I’m rambling), but from the moment I walked in I felt wanted. My food was amazing and the staff made me feel as I was part of their family ( you definitely don’t get that everywhere). I will definitely come back to visit because everything was amazing.

So, we've been coming here since whenever they opened - has it been 15 years? Longer? Anyhow, they were closed for repairs due to a water leak, and reopened recently. We were a party of 14 for New Years Eve. The place was hopping, they were busy. But. Our dinner was excellent! The waitress (Chessa but it was New Years Eve I may have heard that wrong) was great, came by at the right times, got orders at the right times. Drinks came out quickly, and so did the wine. Salads arrived when they should, split up where people asked for same; bread arrived too. The tuna tartare and shrimp dip were great appetizers. Dinners were served super hot, and importantly, when folks asked for special preparations, they all came out exactly as asked. The redfish, which we know is local, is really outstanding, blackened, seared, on a variety of serving styles. All of the staff from top to bottom were friendly despite, again, being pretty frantic on this New Years Eve. I highly recommend!

Ordered the broiled seafood platter. The French fries were cold, not even a bit warm. The hush puppies, fish , shrimp and scallops were all room temp. Nothing hot on the plate. It was as if it was cooked earlier in the day and just sat out. Service was so poor. Saw our waitress once. Asked four times for our check to pay. Don’t waste your time or money with so many other good places to eat.
