It was a busy Friday night, and our plans at another restaurant fell through, so we decided to try Del Sur. The hostesses were all younger, and when we put our name on the list, we asked them if we could sit at the bar while we waited. One of them said that there was only open seat at the bar, and the two of us couldn’t sit there because it would be too crowded. So we gave them our phone number and walked around a bit. 30 minutes later we came back, and I asked if I could use the restroom. She hesitated, and looked at the wait list to find my name. Once she did, she said “Yes, you can use the restroom”. Weird, but ok, so I did. At that time there was an open seat at the bar, so I called my husband to come inside, and I sat down and he stood next to me. The bartender was so accommodating and sweet, immediately offering to add a stool to the end of the bar so he could sit with me. We got halfway through our drink and our table was ready. Chad was our server, and he was wonderful. We asked for his recommendations, and we went with what he said. We had the lamb empanadas, bread, braised short rib with risotto, and a caprese salad. Everything was exceptional! We will definitely return the next time we are in SSI. Just one small piece of advice, as a former restaurant industry worker for 20 years, for the management - I would educate the hosts about being a little more flexible and accommodating to waiting guests. Especially when you are spending the amount of money you are to dine there. That’s the only negative thing I can say about our experience, otherwise it was exceptional. It was my husband’s birthday, and he said it was his favorite meal he had during our five day visit.

Seated 20 minutes after our reservation. Food was good as always but the side I ordered never came after server went and checked on it. And then gave us a check without my drink on it and we thought he comp’d it because of the issue but then added it and said he forgot. Will probably go back but certainly didn’t have things together tonight

The help at this location are horrible to say the least. We came to this location after fasting all day and put our name on the reservation list. A little blonde girl took the reservation and said there would be a 45 minute wait. We waited 45 minutes and came back to the location to check and see how much longer the wait would be as the little blonde girl proceeded to let people in. A rude young man with short fuzz hair came and said “well we said we would text when we are ready.” I told him we had been waiting for 45 minutes already and needed to know how many were in front of us. He told me another 20 minutes after he faked like he looked for our name. I told my family we would just leave and eat at the hotel and I would just call the manager later to complain about the helps poor service. The little fuzz head man said, “that’s fine!” Very sarcastically. I wouldn’t give a penny to these people. Very disgusting help staff!

I feel that Del Sur is one of the best restaurants on this island. Our waiter Kyle was great. Food was fabulous and my husband and I agreed that the key lime pie was the best we've ever had. We will be back.

We were warmly welcomed by Alberto, owner, and his staff. The first night we enjoyed the slow roasted lamb shank served with demi-glace sauce and mashed potatoes..it was luscious! The next night, we just had to go back and experience the grilled salmon with Balsamic glaze. Wonderful, with roasted vegetables perfect. The ambience and warmth shown by staff Ikur, Joseph, and Frankie is truly outstanding! Of course we took with us to go orders of their amazing empanadas for morning coffee. Our " forever" restaurant at St. Simon's Island.
Had a wonderful experience! It started with the warm treatment we received from Maui at the front door. Such a positive and pleasant way to start our evening.While we waited we ordered a bottle of wine from Chad and he started taking care of us before we even got to our table!The food was delicious, and the portions were very generous.I highly recommend that you try this restaurant.

Lamb Empanada, awesome. Excellent new cocktail menu, had the Fig Negroni. Shrimp risotto very nice... shrimp were small, are they locally sourced? Hope so. Skirt steak flavorful but lots of gristle & fat, could barely eat 1/4th of it.
