Ate at El Capitan tonight for the first time and we will be back! We needed a table that would accommodate our stroller and the manager immediately moved a table over for us...not all restaurants are accommodating of strollers, but they didn't miss a beat! Sarah was our server and she was fabulous...explained the menu to us, extremely attentive and had a great personality. The food was WONDERFUL!! Can't wait to go back and try a bunch of other things...this place is going to do very well in Sandy Springs. So glad to see this wonderful restaurant in our neighborhood!

I made a reservation based on a recent write up and was very disappointed. I tried calling to confirm out reservation to the phone number Google brought up that was not the correct phone number for the restaurant. The other number listed on their website was not in service and I was asked to send a text message via the website. When I sent the text message I never got a response. I mentioned this upon arrival at the restaurant and was happy to show the numbers that were listed but the hostess did not seem to care . The hostess was also our waitress and bartender. We requested water to be brought to the table 4 times before it arrived it took over 30 minutes for appetizers and drinks to arrive. I made my entrée choice based upon the recommendation of our waitress and inquired about the market price before ordering. When the bill arrived, there was a $10 price difference . After speaking with a manager, who also brought the food to our table, he agreed to honor the price originally quoted. We love trying new restaurant and supporting local establishments, but the food was average, the service was extremely slow, and the drinks missed the mark. We won’t be back

Disappointing: We were excited by the opening of a new seafood restaurant nearby. But our dining experience was rather disappointing. First the positive: the Camarones Sirenita (stuffed shrimp) appetizer was very good. Now the negative: The Taco Bull was not at all as described (skirt steak wrapped in a cheese crust)--the steak was tough and sloppily placed on a flat tortilla and there was no cheese crust. Also had the Filete Empapelado -- the fish and shrimp were wrapped, baked, and served in aluminum foil, not a very appealing presentation. It appeared that it had been frozen this way, with a lot of water, and popped in the oven for preparation. The result was very bland. Finally, a minor complaint: the music was TOO LOUD.

This is a fairly new Mexican restaurant with mostly seafood appetizers and entrees. The small shrimp bisque and bread, served as a free appetizer instead of the usual chips and salsa, was a pleasant surprise and quite tasty. We had two entrees: the Ceviche was excellent with a very attractive presentation, the Chicken Quesadilla plate was just OK. The service was excellent and friendly. The music was a bit too loud. We'll go again.

Meh, weak Ritas, and a 25$ 8 oz burned steak instead of medium rare. Glad I had a group on. The decor is top notch however.

Interesting and unique menu. Had the Lagastinos and they were very tasty. It was a bit dead on a Wednesday night at 6 - 7 pm but looks like it could be fun once things got rocking. Shrimp soup was also great.

My family enjoyed a delicious and uniquely flavorful meal this evening. We shared paella, snapper, shrimp, and a shrimp soup, and guacamole! Wonderful!! We also had a a few Mexican cocktails. We will definitely be back!

Delicious food!! Only small issue: Although the dish was very tasty, don’t ever charge $60 market price with something that has imitation crab meat in it. Just sayin.. I had fried octopus bites and the Langosta Rellena, stuffed lobster. Texas margarita was pretty good too! Bites are now a favorite ?

I was expecting more about this restaurant. I had heard about El Capitan on social media and even on some advertisements you see around Atlanta area, however I was really disappointed with everything, the place itself, the food, the drinks and the staff. The staff was kinda rude and unwise since the moment we stepped into the restaurant. The drinks: I ordered a Coco Capitan, it sounded good at first, however when I tasted it, it was literally coconut juice, that's it, it didn't have any bit of alcohol, and for the price I was expecting it to have more flavor. The food: I ordered some shrimps, I don't know about you guys, but me personally I find it disgusting when the shrimps are served without being unveined, it just makes my eating experience awful and it immediately makes me lose my appetite. I literally had to unvein myself each and every single shrimp in my plate and it was not only struggling but nasty at the same time. I like trying different kind of restaurants around the Atlanta area, and this one is definitely one of those I won't come back or wouldn't recommend, you can absolutely get better seafood in Atlanta metropolitan area other than El Capitan.

Really Really Great service. Extremely nice. Almost too nice. Really love that. Menu could be a bit more elaborate but they let u switch out for what u want. I got fish in place of a dish that had squid all because of the nice server Brenda I think her name was! Thank u all.

Being a long-time Sandy Springs resident, I've seen so many cool places open and close in that strip. I really hope El Capitan is here to stay, because the seafood was fresh and delicious (I had the fried fish bites app & the shrimp in the pineapple entrée), our server was very polite and knowledgeable, and the overall very attentive staff. The bartender came to check to make sure we enjoyed the cocktails - I had the grapefruit Paloma, you could tell it was fresh-squeezed - delicious. The manager/owner also came to our table to make sure we enjoying ourselves. Overall very pleased!
