My job has extremely long hours late at night standing for long periods of time. I get one 30 minute lunch break per day, so I wanted to use it wisely. I noticed that Taka Sushi was nearby, so I placed an order for pickup for one bowl of tonketsu ramen. The website listed this dish for $12. I wasted time trying to find a place, it doesn't really have a sign that is visible from the street. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was shocked to find a $16.73 bill. I know I was looking at the dinner pricing on the website, I didn't order anything else other than the Ramen. I have no idea how they can justify a 30% up charge for takeout. When I got back to work and opened up the ramen, it looked fine, but not great. It was a small bowl, and it skipped out on many of the ingredients that I expect from Roman, like strips of seaweed, and discs of Naruto. This would have all been fine if it were a $12 full of ramen, but it wasn't. As much as I love ramen and sushi, and as much as this place is so convenient for me to take for lunch, I can't justify eating here if everything is going to cost 30% more than what you can say it is FOR TAKEOUT.

Wonderful service. Unfortunately, some of the lowest quality sushi I have ever had. I have had better sushi from grocery stores. It was not fresh at all and tasted quite bad. We love sushi and couldn’t even finish our rolls because they were so awful. Edamame was cold and mushy, spicy tuna crispy rice tasted old/stale. Ironically was priced as if it was a high quality sushi restaurant. Very disappointed given the many positive reviews.

We always enjoy Taka for takeout, but dining in is a treat. The sushi was fresh, innovative, and extras were fantastic. The tempura is light and crispy. The restaurant was full and the sushi bar was a fun spot to sit and watch the action.

We had a family birthday dinner and the service was terrible. We had to get up ask for things to complete our meal which interrupted the meal and experience. Food was average. House sake is not good. I probably won’t go back.

Went here for my birthday and really enjoyed the food and service. There was also a little surprise for me from the resturant. They really made me feel special. I will certainly return again.

It took us 10 minutes to get seated because the guy in front of us was placing a to go order, and then someone had to clean off a table. After that, she was no where in sight. We finally sat down and it took someone 10 minutes to get a waitress to come and see us. We ordered our appetizers and she was no where in sight after that. We ended up ordering and everything came out fine. Our main dish ended up going to the table next to ours on accident so we had to wait even longer. We ordered right away and were there for a total of 1 hour and 20 minutes. There were not many tables in there. Safe to safe, we will never return.

Little disappointed to be writing this review because I used to enjoy this place but now it has gone down hill. I’ve eaten at this restaurant twice in the past month and both my wife and I got sick. Judging by their almost failing health score and the other reviews of people getting sick, it’s clear that they do not have good health standards. Won’t be returning any time soon.

TAKA has some of the best SUSHI in town. Very friendly staff and an excellent HAPPY HOUR from 5-6! If you haven't been do yourself a favor and try it...you won't be disappointed.

Taka has been delivering some of Atlanta's highest quality sushi for over a decade. His hands-on approach ensures a tremendous dining experience, and his staff is always attentive and makes you feel appreciated.

Taka Sushi is one of our favorite restaurants. We have tried at least a dozen greater metro Atlanta Japanese or Sushi restaurants and Taka Sushi is the best, especially the Sashimi and the Soba Noodles. Over the last 4+ years we have been here about 30 to 35 times. Traveling Asia and Europe there are only two we found on the same high level, one in Manhattan (Soba Totto) and one in Singapore (Shimbashi Soba, Paragon).

I came in just because I was in the mood for sushi and wanted a roll Togo. As soon as I walked the hostess was super nice and smiled at me and helped me right away. She gave me water as I waited and everyone was so friendly even though I was just a Togo order. They made me feel like an important higher up lol. Sushi was perfect and I can’t wait to go back for an actual sit down dinner.

Went in to order takeaway. First, some positives: The restaurant looks nice. The serving staff is very nice and friendly. That's the only reason for the 2 stars. I was there right at opening for dinner at 5pm. The menu looks ok although it is not anything special. I ordered sushi rolls. Now for the negatives: They add a 15% gratuity on your check even if you pick up your food yourself. I'm used to gratuities added (at some restaurants) when I sit at a table and being served but I questioned it for takeaway and the owner (I think) started arguing with me, claiming pandemic surcharges for their extra costs etc., etc., blah, blah. He said he would take the tip off (it was $10) but was visibly hostile and unpleasant about it. I did add a $5 tip because I felt bullied and honestly I was worried what they would do to my food. The owner muttered something like "Well, it's better than $0." I think the way I was treated was very unprofessional. The sushi rolls are very small and lacked flavor. The Super Crunch Roll, Copacabana Roll with some slices of dry tasteless mango on top and the Lobster Roll ($27) were surprisingly bland and the rice was dry and clearly not fresh. I ordered 4 rolls and got just two tiny blobs of wasabi (luckily I have wasabi at home in my fridge) and some soy sauce packets. They claim to make their own soy sauce but apparently they don't provide that for takeout orders, even though charging 15% gratuity!I paid $70 for the order including the $5 tip that I felt bullied into. It wasn't worth it. I was not a nice experience. They are obviously trying to make as much money as possible but this owner doesn't know the concept of offering superior food and service in order to justify premium prices.I wish I had read some of the less positive reviews beforehand. I will not go back even though it's conveniently located for me. I can not recommend Taka Sushi. It's a rip-off!

A to-go order is a very different experience compared to a sit-down dinner. When you tell the customer a total price over the phone for their to-go order and then change the total by adding an 18% gratuity…. I will never return. Ordering five sushi rolls and then being told the gratuity is 18% is ridiculous.Sushi wise- I’ve had better. Two of our sushi rolls were dry, and the other three under seasoned.

Where to start. You would not know it from the name or the outside appearance but this place is a wine lovers dream. They have amazing wines At fantastic prices. Just go sit at the bar and grab a bottle Then there is the food. Practically perfect. All around great time. I will be back
