We were seated promptly and I ordered the "homemade" barley beef soup. What a disappointment. There was no way it was "homemade" The beef in it were these rectangular shaped cubes of a mystery meat that was rubbery. the broth was fine. My wife ordered a sandwich of some type that was fine But then we listened to the waitress cut down the previous owners saying they catered to locals serving cheap food at cheap prices. Well, we are local, and for this meal we received cheap food at not cheap prices. My suggestion is not to advertise "homemade" soups that are not and do not make fun of previous owners or locals out loud. Keep your thoughts to yourselves.

We were pleasantly surprised. Food was perfect and the young man serving us was friendly and attentive. The baked peaches were awesome!

Thought I'd try this place out today as I pass by it going to work and see how busy they are (or seem to be by all the cars in the parking lot - there's other businesses here as well). Called in a pick up order and the lady was very nice. Arrived and my order was ready. I waited in line with three older gentleman in front of me. When it was my turn I was asked if I could step to the side and wait while she checked out the other 5 or 6 customers behind me. My order was there beside her. Why ask a customer to step to the side when their order is ready just for you to check out other people? Makes no sense. The cashier was nice. I waited in line just like everyone else to pay but I said sure no problem. Immediately after I did, a friendly waitress took my payment. That's customer service. My order was wrong, I was charged another biscuit and gravy but was easily removed from my total with no problems. I grabbed my order and headed to work. There was no social distancing among customers. I saw the owner wear a mask and one waitress who helped me. The cash out lady had hers on but was only hanging on by one ear. The restaurant looked very clean. The food cooking was smelt great. However, the taste was not the same. When I ate my buscuit and gravy, it wasn't the best. The bacon was great. The amount of food I was given was way overpriced. Unfortunately, I will not come back to this restaurant for breakfast. But will try their lunch.

Please don’t waste your time at this place. We waited 3 hours and never got our food. The food may be good but will never know because the staff here move like snails and they don’t seem to have the first idea of how to run a restaurant. We were so dissatisfied with everything to the point of just walking out. They still however charged us for drink that took about 30 minutes to arrive. Sign on the road read “Breakfast all day”, but you’ll be lucky to get a glass of water. By far the worse dining experience of our lives. I have worked in the restaurant business for over 25 years and never seen so much incompetence in one place. All the good reviews you see here are probably from locals that don’t mind wasting the whole day waiting at a diner for some eggs and biscuits. If you are just passing through, please do yourself a favor and keep on driving unless you want to see for yourself what a joke this place is. If you do so, please eat beforehand or else you’ll starve to death.

This is the best place to grab some country cooking in the area. Its definitely my favorite place to take my family for breakfast. The owner Wendell is a saint, he is literally the kindest soul ever. Theres also a pretty good chance you'll catch him in the kitchen which says a lot about the place. They have an outdoor patio with an amazing view perfect for nice weather.

We took a quick overnight trip to Helen for our anniversary. My husband’s name is Wendell so we pulled in. It was great a great home style breakfast. We both had the three egg omelette and they were delish. It was so good we went back today again before heading out. We will definitely be back!

First time visiting Helen and decided to try Wendell’s and I’m so glad we did!! Delicious homestyle breakfast at excellent prices. Everyone was very friendly and service was wonderful. Feels like you’re right at home! Amazing place! Will definitely be returning!

Really good breakfast. Biscuits and omelet were the best. There was a party ahead of us so we had a bit of a wait for our food but were given free biscuits for our wait. We got to talk to Wendell and he was really sweet. Definitely will be back if were in the area.

Delicious home style breakfast... Their menu is limited but what they do, they do well. The three egg omelette seemed to be the crowd favorite. I know we enjoyed ours. Generous portion of sausage included in mine. Wife had bacon in hers. Also generously portioned. Large biscuits with milk gravy and just the right amount of black pepper. Only a couple miles outside of Helen and well worth the 5 minute drive. If you're tired of the long lines in Helen, give this place a try. You should leave full and satisfied. We did!
