We had a terrible time getting a decent table but once we did our food was excellent. Wife had the catfish which she loved and I had the shrimp & grits which was without a doubt was the best I've ever had....highly recommended.
The door greeters 3 of them standing there were more interested in their phones after standing at the door for more than 2 min finally looked up and with a little attitude asked would I like a table well yes im not standing here watching you like zombies on your phone.
This place was nice. Pretty clean. Crab dip tasted like tuna salad so I wouldn't recommend that dish. Service was very friendly.
The best shrimp and grits in the universe. Great place on the river. I eat there every time I am in Savannah.
I loved the oldness of the building. And even the old smell. I had the pimento cheese hamburger medium well. The taste was off for me. Not sure if it was the cheese or the meat.
Shrimp and grits is fantastic. Every bite was a mouthful of deliciousness.
We were greeted and seated promptly. After that the service was slow. Food came out cold and the shrimp was served without being de-vained (in a kids meal). The manager was agreeable to giving us a new replacement order of shrimp without issue and the replacement meal was very quick. It wasn't our greatest dining experience in Savannah. The staff was cordial but, saying they were "nice" would be an overstatement. I would recommend trying another place before coming here. Who knows though, maybe we just came on the wrong night.
Food was awesome. Service was amazing. We had cheese fries for appetizer. For dinner I had the trio(crab cake, shrimp and scallops(they were a little under) and my husband had the jambalaya pasta(amazing). Clam chowder was also awesome. Would definitely recommend.
Bowl of grits was like a bowling ball, I was able to turn the bowl over in my hand and hold the serving of grits... no flavor, hard on outside. Catfish was hot but interior was not fully cooked - mushy!
Food was a bit pricey, but quite tasty. I had the seafood trio and it was delicious!

The service and food were excellent. A bit pricey, but try the fried gator tail and fried green tomatoes. They were tastey.
Great place to visit on Riverstreet in Savannah.
Stopped in for lunch on our way home from vacation. The food was great and the staff friendly and helpful. Definitely going back!
The hostess was really nice and accommodating. Our waiter Johnathan was awesome. He was sure to check on us regularly and made sure we had everything we needed.
Will NOT be returning. Came in on a busy Thursday night with my daughter, who recently turned 21 last week. When we walked in, the hostess informed us the only open seats are at the bar, which that was fine, we were tired and just wanted some good food. Upon being sat down at the bar, the male bartender comes up immediately with an attitude. “Drinks or food?” No hi how are you, nothing. Not a huge deal, however, we’re in the south, it’s called southern hospitality. Anyways, we let him know just food and he rudely is screaming “IDs!!! I NEED TO SEE IDs FOR YOU TO EAT AT THE BAR” even though we weren’t planning on drinking. I, 62 years old, had my id, however, my daughter didn’t. She had her id shipped overnight to her via my other daughter, but the package wasn’t delivered on time. We explained the situation to him that she JUST turned 21, her id is currently somewhere with UPS, but we have a picture of it on her phone that my other daughter sent her just in case. He did not even care to see the photo just to prove her age, not even TRYING to order a drink. He rudely is yelling back that we have to leave, we can’t sit at the bar, all while making a SCENE with everyone sitting at and around the bar just looking at us. With how many restaurants Savannah has, you would think he’d try to be more accommodating especially since COVID 19 can shut the restaurant back down at any time. After being publicly embarrassed, we left and went elsewhere and probably had way better food than what we would’ve been served here. After the bartenders response, it makes me think whether the owners know he’s misogynistic who belittled 2 females simply because we didn’t want to order anything from his bar. (Would also like to note that other places IN SAVANNAH AND STATESBORO took my daughters photo of her id and severed her alcohol. What is the harm in letting 2 people sit at the bar and eat when that is the only form of seating available?) What the bartender could have done is talk with the hostess and had us move to another section where we could be served, but that’s too much consideration for women on his part. While I don’t live in Savannah, my daughter does because she’s in nursing school. You can best believe that she and her friends WHO ARE ALL OLDER THAN 21, will not even consider eating here when on a night out.
