Vic's On the River Reviews
We ate at Vic's on the River Thursday 3-19-26 and it was definitely a 10. The staff was great and the food!!! I had the catfish and shrimp and my husband had the prime ribeye and we are still talking about how good it was. The starter of biscuits and honey butter should give you a clue of how good the dinner will be. Daniel was our waiter and he was great! Thank you for our best meal experience at Savannah.
Incredible food the crab cakes were to die for and the service was amazing! 10 out of 10
My friends and I were visiting Savannah and were looking to a high quality final dinner here. This was our worst experience in town. Do not eat here. The staff was incredibly rude, we waited for 20 minutes AFTER our reservation time, and they gave our table to someone else. Once we were finally seated, they refused to serve us because our REAL identification was fake. Our server was incredibly rude to us, and we left. Awful.

Vic's On the River provides a memorable dining experience with excellent service and delicious food. Guests often praise dishes like the fried green tomatoes, shrimp & grits, ribeye steak, and jumbo lump crabcake. The desserts, especially the chocolate torte, pecan pie, and peach trio, are delightful. The restaurant’s scenic view of ships and the river adds to its charm, and its location offers a beautiful view of historic Savannah structures on Bay Street and River Street. Visitors enjoy the lively atmosphere, which can be busy with large groups or parties, sometimes making it loud, especially on busy nights. The staff, including friendly servers, make sure guests feel well taken care of. The food, such as shrimp and grits and fried green tomatoes, is flavorful and well-cooked, with perfect scallops being a highlight. Special touches like surprise desserts for celebrations add to the festive mood. The open ceiling and hardwood floors may amplify noise, but the overall quality of the food and the lovely atmosphere make Vic's a place worth visiting again. It's helpful to note that the restaurant is accessible from the street front, and the view from some tables is about three or four stories above the river. Despite some noise and close table arrangements, many guests enjoy the experience and find it a great spot to celebrate special occasions. Don't forget to try their delicious water too!
