11/10. My husband and I loved everything we ate from here. Started with the calamari and French onion soup. The calamari was very fresh tasting. He got the special which was a ribeye with mushrooms and it was topped with a Demi glaze. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly and my husband said it was one of the best from a restaurant which Is a large compliment since his are cooked to perfection at home. I had the Atlantic shellfish melange and it was amazing. All the seafood in it was seasoned and cooked to perfection. We finished with the crème brûlée and it was the best I’ve ever had. Let’s not forget the blueberry lemon martini I had. We sat outside and it was a perfect evening for it and we had great service. It was all so so good and we 100% will be retuning when we come back to Savannah.

Made reservations 6 months in advance. Arrived to find my wife and I sat at literally the worst table in the restaurant. Watched a garbage can carried out past our table. Asked to be reseated. Request was refused. We left and will not be back. When i made a reservation six months ago for 2 at "vics by the river" I never would have imagined what I got. Can't say if the food or view was worth it...never saw either. Bad experience.

Went for lunch as we had heard and seen amazing reviews. We went in and there were only a handful of tables occupied but most of the restaurant was open. The waitress did not introduce herself, took our orders and went away. We received our appetizers of soups and fries within 10 minutes. It then took 45 minutes after the appetizers were completed for our main meals to arrive which were two salads, a sandwich and tacos. We were told the wait was possibly because it takes a while for the chicken to cook. The chicken came out chewy in the sandwich and the chicken on the salad was crunchy with little taste. The fries and French onion soup were amazing. However the service and fact we received no apologies for delays in receiving food, especially when surrounding tables who were seated after us received their meals first, was frustrating. Once the food was finally delivered our waitress never came to the table to check on us. It also took several reminders to receive ketchup and mustard for the sandwich. Overall disappointed in our experience.

Nice atmosphere, delicious food and great service. We had pan seared scallops and shrimp with grits. Best dinner we had during our three night stay. Location was within walking distance of our hotel.

Beautiful place with a beautiful view of the river. The food is delicious, and the staff was attentive and on point. First, they brought out these amazing biscuits . Then, for the entree,I had the shrimp and grits. It was amazing. For dessert I had the pralines cheesecake and it was great! Not too dense and had a great flavor. Even though it's on the tourist strip, it's very non tourist oriented. Lots of locals treat themselves to a meal here. Would recommend. Fresh and delicious foods with good service!

The food was great but it took a long time. Pork chop was delicious! Lucky for us, our server was on top of keeping our drinks full and keeping us updated since it was taking a while. We arrived early for our reservation and were able to be seated a bit earlier. Their biscuits are delicious! Ask for another basket and take some to go. Great view of the river too!

My wife and I's first visit to Savannah. My wife researched many restaurants in the area and picked Vic's on the River as one of the restaurants to dine at so we had high expectations. I have to be honest and say my personal eating expereince here was just ok. We enjoyed the biscuits and my wife liked the she crab soup. I had the mahi mahi special which I personally would rate a 3.5 out of 5. My wife had the shrimp and grits and while she did enjoy it the food temperature was luke warm. We got to the restaurant around 6:20 pm and were done by 7 pm. While there was no pressure to eat and go, we felt rushed by how quickly the food came out of the kitchen. The atmosphere is ok but felt like diners are on top of each other based on how many tables therewere in the space. Our waiter was attentive and did a good job.
