The place really reminded me of The Jamaican restaurants in south Florida,the young lady at the front was very nice,the jerk chicken was delicious

Just had the jerk chicken for a late lunch. It’s delicious. Planning on coming back for oxtails for dinner.

I showed up at around 3:30 pm on a Friday to place an in-person pick up order. I ordered the medium Jerk Chicken plate with 2 sides (Mac & cheese and peas & rice). Additionally, I also ordered a beef patty to eat while I waited on my to-go order (which I received right away.) The server asked me if I wanted the jerk gravy over my food or the oxtail gravy. I asked for the jerk gravy because I like spicy and she described it as having a kick. Boy was she correct! My food was so good. Not only did she have my order ready in about 9 minutes, she showed me the food before closing up the box and bagging it.

I started digging in while driving home because it smelt SO GOOD, I couldn't wait hehee. The jerk chicken meat had a nice smokey char to it off the grill and was covered in jerk gravy. YUMMY! The rice and mac & cheese was also delicious and they give you a good sized portion. I will for sure be back and make this my go-to Jerk Chicken joint.

As far as interior goes, it wasn't anything super fancy. Looked more like a lounge inside with strobe lights and a bar. There were clean dining tables off to the right side of the bar. There was another customer inside waiting for her to-go order when I entered. So the place didn't look busy at that time with dine-in customers. However, it seems like a lot of people just do pick-ups. Best of all, I only paid $17 for my entire order! Keep up the great food Black Diamond ;)

I've been to several Jamaican restaurants in the city. Black Diamond has the BEST Oxtail in the game. Very well season'd, FALLING OFF THE BONE. I hope their quality of food stays the same and nevr changes. I had the Oxtail with Rice & Beans w/ Mac and cheese... The Mac and cheese wasn't anything to rave about, but everything else was Top notch. They have a nice size menu, so I WILL be going back to check the other dishes! #PEACE

Garden City’s hidden gem. Good vibes, amazing, friendly and welcoming service and the food…..THE FOOD IS EVERYTHING. Perfectly cooked, Flavorful, good portions for the price. I had a small jerk with the rice and peas and green peas…..I came back the NEXT DAY. Tried the Curry Chicken…I think I’m gonna go through the whole menu 😭. Must try for any foodie.

The website be lying about hours when there open. They need to update their hours and days that they are working. Never answer the phone .people are
wasting 30-40 minutes driving up there for them to be close is ridiculous. But the food is delicious

Wonderful Jamaican food here..I had the curry goat, rice and Mac and cheese. A small filled me up but I should have gotten the medium because the goat was cooked perfectly seasoned! Will be back

First time going there, overall the place was clean, the atmosphere was nice, the service was great, the food was good but ricè was undercooked. I am a visitor from another state, but I recommend trying this place.

$32 for a Snapper meal is ridiculous, which they served with a half cup of rice. Never again

My first trying Oxtails from here DELECTABLE 😍🥰🥰 $15 SMALL BELOW
Would rate an overall 2 or 3.5 bcuz PROPORTIONS ARE STINGY.. ordered a small oxtails w/rice and macnchz(8)why I get a SMALL SPOONFUL OF macnchz, a box OF RICE AND 3 oxtails😭
Mac n cheese WAS ALSO GOOD TOO😋
Oxtail gravy is wonderful, BUT MY OXTAILS got dry cuz ALL THE IN MY BOX SOAKED UP ANY JUICE 😩😭 bigger sizes have more SMALLER PIECES then big😩😩 THIS WAS $15 btw.. feel like I paid for a box of rice😭😭
Just spoke to a “manager” otp to let her know my box is full of rice, she didn’t want to or try to help. Not sure if I’ll ever come back because I was thinking I would at least get half of BOTH of my sides. Based on pictures from other reviews, I’m still upset I only got a spoonful of Mac and box full of rice😭 keep looking at my box cuz this what it look like after I ate all the Mac😭😭
