Carey Hilliard's Restaurant

Waters Ave Restaurant has really gone down hill the last few months. The walls of the booth are dirty, food and plain yuck on the floor and windows. Even the tables aren’t really wiped clean when we get there. The baseboards are grimy and dusty. We were there Friday, trash under every booth, server dropped a cup of ranch when clearing a table it went all over the floor and side of an empty booth, servers just stepped around and over until original server came back wiped “at” the spill, cleaned about half of it off the other booth and the floor was just left untouched. Air return which is in the dining area is plain gross. We will be trying Abercorn store going forward. Can’t imagine what the kitchen must look like if the dining room is so dirty. They were not very busy either….

We had seen Hilliard's since moving to Savannah a couple of years ago, and took the opportunity to stop in for lunch. Pretty disappointing, overall. BBQ was OK, but more fibrous than tender, the cole slaw was loaded with pickles which seemed a bit odd, and in general both my wife and I had about half our meals and stopped, way before we were really filled. It is hard not to like BBQ, and this was just OK. An enthusiastic crowd of locals though, so we were clearly an outlier.

Latrice was just excellent. The food was great as always. Can’t go wrong with chicken fingers and cheddar baked potato.

The food was subpar the Brunswick stew looked like baby food mush the sorriest chicken wings I ever had pulled pork was edible

All the curbside waiters and waitress are so courteous, kind and accommodating,especially Amber B. Amber is always pleasant and greets customers with a smile!

Parking: The food at Carey Hilliard's is very good at all their locations. I love that your food isn't cooked till you order. It's always hot and I've always enjoyed it. They have a pull up and the waiter or waitress comes to the car to take your order. Usually go in but was in a hurry that day so just stopped ordered and got it to go.
