My husband and I travelled to Savannah for the weekend and I had made reservations ahead for Fleeting. When we arrived we chose to sit at the open kitchen bar area. The chef Alex was amazing to watch! His mastery of the wood burning oven/grill was awe inspiring. I had a lovely pork chop but wish I had chosen the steak. I highly recommend Fleeting if you like the open kitchen concept of if you just like a fine meal in a lovely but relaxed setting.
We had a group celebrating a birthday and it worked well for that. The food was delicious. The only shortcoming was that there was only a guitar player and we had expected more for a Jazz brunch. We had expected more though he was quite good.
The food was tasty but stifled by a skimpy menu. Service crawled at a glacial pace; we arrived at 7:45 PM to a half-empty dining room, yet our appetizer didn't show until 8:55 PM—and it was the wrong dish. Servers drifted by, barely noticing us, their interactions dripping with rehearsed, hollow charm, like they'd memorized lines from a bad restaurant reality show. Stellar food might salvage such lackluster service, but this meal didn't rise to the challenge.
