I visited because most of the reviews were raving about how amazing the I've cream was and some even said it's the best they've had.
I had the pistachio and the rum bisque. I loved that the ice cream was really fresh and very natural tasting. It was creamy but not as creamy as I like. The pistachio although good the flavor, was not as rich as I like. The rum bisque was good but the flavors didn't stand out and I barely tasted any macaroons. Again it was good ice cream but Not the best best I've had. I will take a Jeni's Gooey Butter Cake anyday of the week. The line was also super long it took us about 30 mins to get served. If you have the time and patience it's worth a try but I wouldn't say it's a must have.
Leopoldo’s in Savannah is a must! The line looked super long but moved fast, and Matt made the wait even better by offering free water and giving excellent service. The honey ice cream was absolutely delicious—so worth it!
Amazing ice cream and a pet friendly spot. They brought a pup cup out to our doggo.
Excellent selection of ice cream and baked goods even had gluten free cookies. One of the workers came over and visited with us and shared history of the place so friendly and delicious ice cream
Cool place! Great Ice cream!
Ice cream was great and the staff was friendly.
Might be the best ice cream I’ve ever had

Worth a visit. You will love their ice creams.
Leopoldo’s is ALWAYS a must stop while in Savannah!! We started going with my grandma back about 6 years ago, and now we have to go everytime we go to Savannah! 💕💕
The exotic flavor offering is nice but highly overrated establishment. Ice cream was just okay. Long line as well.
Wonderful place that still managed to keep to its original style. Lavender and coconut were great flavors.
Tasty, Nostalgic, and… a Test of Patience
Leopold’s Ice Cream definitely knows how to scoop up some magic. The lemon custard and coconut were chef’s kiss — creamy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. It’s the kind of ice cream that makes you pause mid-bite and nod like, “yeah… that’s the good stuff.”
Now for the not-so-sweet part: the wait. If you’re going on a weekend or any warm evening, brace yourself — you’ll be standing in line for 30–40 minutes like it’s a Disney ride, but with less air conditioning.
Is it worth the hype? Eh… that’s subjective. Is it worth waiting 30+ minutes? Honestly, I’m still not sure. But once you’re inside, the retro ambience, nods to classic films, and friendly staff make it feel like a little trip back in time — in a good way.
If you’ve never been, it’s worth doing once. Just bring some patience, maybe a folding chair, and know you’re in for a very Savannah-style sweet treat.
