Everything was good. I don't have any pictures because I ate it all. The gyros were excellent, and my kids got free cookies.

A locally loved restaurant on River Street opened in the time before the tourism boom.

Great location. Amazing food. Very Greek! I even appreciated, listening to ABBA and Greek.

My wife and I had dinner at the Olympic Cafe this past Thursday 2/22. I reached out ahead of time to check on their ability to accommodate my wife's allergies. I communicated with the manager Frances and was assured that we she would be able to have an awesome meal there. We had a reservation and were seated by our server, Ana, immediately. She was already aware of my wife's situation and went about letting her know everything she could have and a couple of items she couldn't. And by the way, Ana was just awesome. We had the "M.D's Red Roasted Pepper" as an appetizer. It was delicious. My wife had the Spanakotiropita and I had the Souvlaki Dinner. Both were exceptional. The food, the service, and the ambiance all surpassed expectations. If you really want some great Greek food we would highly recommend Olympic Cafe.

If you're in Savannah you've got to try this. This was the first time I ever tried a gyro and boy was it delicious. Albeit i've only ever had two gyros. It was a nice delicious meal after a long day of walking. I tried it for the first time back in February of 2023 and again in 2024!

After a horrible experience at another restaurant last night, we left without ever getting food (have never done this before). We found The Olympia Cafe. Boy are we ever glad we did. Jamie was our server and she was awesome. We asked her what her favorite thing is and we decided on the whole flounder. It was so so good. We also loved the lemon potatoes. The atmosphere is upbeat, happy and it smells totally amazing in there. Jamie topped off our night by offering Limoncello and it was the perfect ending to a wonderful experience. Do not miss this restaurant.

The takeout Food was good but the panhandling conflict made this an uncomfortable experience.

Restaurant was packed and we were lucky to get a table without a wait. Our table was tucked in the front corner by a window, so that was really nice. Service was excellent, food was good, we eat a lot of Greek food so this filled a craving but not the best we have had. My husband had a platter with fries and I would say skip those. The pita was good, would rather have that served instead of a bread basket. Overall, good if you are in the mood for Greek food on River Street.

I am always on the outlook for a classic Greek cafe- nothing fancy, just a nice, classic spot featuring great food and a cozy, family feel. Olympia was exactly that on our recent visit, and some of the best Greek eats I've found anywhere. We stopped in on a chilly Christmas-time evening, and immediately felt at home, with the low-ceiling, landscape paintings, and white tablecloths making for a perfect homey holiday feel. After starting with a couple glasses of house white, we explored their menu, while the hummus, feta puffs, and horiatki were outstanding, the standouts were the absolutely delicious and garlicky skordalia (a rare find on most Greek-American menus) and the feta stuffed roasted red pepper swimming in a pool of bright and zingy Greek olive oil. All served old-school with French bread, everything was perfect and just what you wanted it to be from a classic spot like this. Perfect ambiance and better food, Olympia is my Greek dream come true. I think I might be there every weekend if I was local to the area.

We stopped by for some lunch today. My fiancée got a gyro and I got the chicken salad. We had barely sat down five minutes and we had food and drinks. It's honestly the quickest I've ever been served other than at a fast food restaurant. The food was wonderful, everything fresh and of good quality. Our waitress was very sweet and accommodating. They building has a lot of character, the brick walls added to the ambiance of their restaurant. I would happily eat here again.

Stayed at the Hyatt on River Street and in search of local eats. We decided to pop in to Olympia Cafe since we had a stroller with a baby and luckily they were able to get us a table in the corner. This was baby's first time at the restaurant. We ordered calamari, souvlaki, gyro (yeero), and fish and chips. We asked for some mixed veggies for baby and received bell peppers, onions and zucchini. So don't get your hopes up for kid friendly peas and carrots. The plates were good, plentiful. I enjoyed the fresh bread for the table and also the calarmari was perfect. Lightly breaded and paired with a cool dipping sauce. Every so often a server would come by and make a fire with a table appetizer and it lit up a big flame. The ambiance feels authentic, very intimate. A family next to us had about four kids which I can tell annoyed some of the patrons. However it was great to see a family having a meal with all the wildness that comes with it. Overall it was a good experience and would recommend trying if you are on River Street and looking for romantic dinner.
