The River Bar is a terrific lobby option at The Cloisters Sea Island. The friendly professional staff greets you at the host stand and at the bar. We enjoyed a quick burger and beer our first night at the resort. We especially loved their three appetizer bowl with pickled beans, and two bowls of peanut. The bar area also has ample tables and a gorgeous dining room with a roaring fireplace. Very posh decor.

Salty white bean soup and underwhelming caesar salad. Boxed croutons and no anchovies. "(. Quiche was really small and dry. Disappointing for sure. Really nice folks work there though, but may need some help in the kitchen.

Great restaurant! The waitress we had was so friendly and the service was great. I think this place takes reservations and walk-ins. We did a walk-in. We got the carrots with hot honey to share, fries to share, and then I got the greens bowl (listed under salads, may not be the exact name but I do not remember) and I asked for tofu for a vegan option and they were so accommodating! Not on the menu but got it from a different restaurant. The portion was big too. It was very great I would recommend this restaurant!

First of all, our server, Jason, was generous with his time and steered us to the perfect meals for us on the menu. He also has a great attitude and we were fortunate to be served by him. My husband had the crispy duck with a sauce so delicious that he refused to move on with his meal until he got a double portion, just so he could taste it on every bite. A whimsically formed duck confit was also fantastic, as was the sweet potato hash. My guy’s a big eater and he couldn’t finish as the portion was so generous. There’s a special local fish that Jason steered me to, and it was also just great. Healthy but delicious and I was happy. Please don’t miss this place!

What a great place at the cloister. service and food was fantastic.
The food, service and ambiance were typical high quality of Sea Island Resort. After cycling for over miles on St Simons and Sea Island this was an oasis for our hungry and thirsty group of 12.

We stopped in for dinner and didn't really want too much to eat, so after speaking with our amazing server, Gabe, we settled on an easy order. Started with a delicious Cesar salad which was split for us in the kitchen. We then selected from the bar menu the most delicious burger we have had in a very long time. Sometimes one just needs to have a burger. It came with Boursin cheese, portobello mushroom. lettuce, heirloom tomato and other toppings. The brioche bun was lightly toasted and crisp with butter. Pickle and choice of side. We choose the truffle fries and haystack fries. Both delicious. Needless to say, the next day required a 2 hour long walk along the ocean to help burn off this fabulous meal.

This is a PERFECT spot to have lunch. The food was delicious and French inspired. Large portions and all of us were incredibly happy! To order: croque madame, croque monsieur, French fries (sounds silly but may have been the best I’ve ever had) avocado toast with salmon. Delicious cocktail- The Last Tango a cantaloupe margarita. We came back here two nights later for after dinner drinks and to relax and it was perfect.

Our group seemed to end up in River Bar at some point every day of our trip. Whether it was for a meal at a table or drinks and apps at the bar, we seemed to gravitate here because of the food and service.
