McCray's Tavern - Smyrna

We arrived with an 11:30 reservation and had to wait. Wait was about 15 minutes and it was Mother's Day I get it. The meal was pre-paid and that was so they could pre-plan I am sure. We ordered omelets and were 1/2 way through the meal before we got them. The prime rib was advertised as carving station. It was sliced and under heat lamp which dried it out and it was very tough. The replenishing took forever. The service was horrible. I had to clear plates off of the table to make room and take them to the kitchen area. We only got 1 refill on our drinks and had to ask twice for that. I certainly don't mind prepaying for a meal and will tip generously if I get good service. When we were done I was handed the bill with 20% gratuity and could not pay with cash. Had to pay with credit card. I certainly did not get 20% worthy service. Will not go back for special occasions here.

Service was great but the food for the special mothers brunch was not worth the price that was being charged for it. $45 dollars a person for prime rib that was already cut and sitting under a heat lamp is not a carving station as advertised. The pastas were good but not at the price point that was charged.

We love McCrays but the Mothers Day brunch was unsuccessful. 1/3 of the food offerings were empty but the kitchen wasn't monitoring the buffet so we ate chicken tenders with no waffles and gravy with no biscuits. For $50 a person, very little value, our server was great as always and she was also trying to expedite the food for everyone, the rest of the staff was nowhere to be found. Stick to regular days with the regular menu.

When we were seated, we were promptly greeted and asked about drinks, which was a great start. Our server let us know we could go straight to the buffet, and the initial service was excellent. However, after our drinks were brought—except for my mother's, which we had to remind him about twice—we didn't see our server again. My fiancé went back to get the chicken and waffles, but unfortunately there were none left. After finishing our meal, we waited at the table for about 30 minutes without any further check-ins. We do understand it was a busy Mother's Day, but a bit more attention during the meal would have really improved the experience

The buffet was a little underwhelming and disappointing reservation was for 10 but buffet wasn't ready items not out bagels came out 30 min later no cream cheese

Cammie was our server, I would ask for her on my next visit. She was great, the food was good, we will be back

Always consistently good food and service. They do a great job preparing sea food. The salmon and grouper are excellent.

Been here twice & have yet to be disappointed with the food. Our waitress was great. I will definitely be back again!

Needed a little flavor on the steak nachos. No salsas or sauces besides the traditional salsa. Waiter wasn’t as attentive as we would like. Meh ?

On 9.28.24 the biggest game day of the season McCray's allowed us to host our wedding after party here. When I say thank you could not cover the top tier service that we received from Tiffany and Tony. We had a large party and nothing went wrong, nothing negative to say, food was amazing, drinks were A1!!! A TIME WAS HAD. We wanted something personal and matched who we are as a couple and we couldn't have chosen a better place. Thank you Beth for your follow up to make sure that we had everything we needed leading up to the day. Tiffany, girl, you rock!!!! That was a night to remember and our DJ Jelly loved the vibe there. At the end of the night we were not rushed to leave we were treated with the utmost kindness on our day.

Manager with mustache is rude and condescending, I sat at a table in the bar area and witnessed him make a young lady in the bar cry whom happened to be an ex employee when I asked her if she was fine. This isn’t the first time I’ve heard of the management there being rude. Hopefully the young lady chats with someone in HR. My service was great nonetheless, management please work on your communication skills.
