The customer service at Africaboro was genuinely kind, friendly, and welcoming — and honestly, that was the only good part of the entire experience.
We ordered our food to go, and the moment we tasted it, we regretted ever spending a dollar there. The food was literally inedible. My oxtail tasted burnt — like the bottom of the pot had been scraped up and served. It had that harsh, scorched flavor that completely ruins any dish. And it wasn’t just the oxtail — every single thing we ordered was awful, and my wife and I love food. We try new restaurants all the time, so for us to throw an entire meal away says a lot.
And while waiting for the order, we got a clear look at the kitchen area — and what we saw was extremely unsanitary:
• Dirty, greasy surfaces
• Pots and pans that looked unwashed
• A microwave with a broken door, covered in caked-on grease and grime
• Food being cooked in an air fryer surrounded by filth
• Dirty floors that clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time
It absolutely did not look like a clean or safe place to prepare food.
To make things worse, the meal was overpriced for the quality we received. We spent about $70 on two entrées, an appetizer, and a drink — and the Malta drink was the only thing we ended up consuming. Everything else went straight into the trash.
Great customer service, but the food and sanitation were so bad that we will never return.

Was hands down some of THE best cooking I've had in a long time. Cooked with love by the owner/chef. She was amazingly sweet and knew exactly how to make some jollof rice with amazing fried plantains to start. Mimosas didn't even make it home! Puff puffs were same! How and delicious food! I made the mistake to of not putting fufu in my order. We actually wanted to try Africaboro for the fufu...but what we got will definitely make us go back for more!

If you're looking for a place to eat good.. This is it- I ordered the Egusi w Pounded yams(Fufu) just the sauce no meat. I've never tried it and wasn't sure if I wanted to spend extra on mea- I SHOULD HAVE. EVERYTHING was better than expected, the owner was super nice with a great smile and asking us questions in order to give us a great first experience! 1000/5 stars would recommend.
Sorry no pictures I ate it all. :)

***Updated my review**
After leaving my review the owner was able to contract me and issue a refund, so i updated to 4 based on the customer service and i cant wait to taste the food once they open back up!
I placed an online order from their direct website, paid around $150 and when I went to pick it up the place was under construction, and I was told they are actually closed for renovation. I have spent 2 weeks trying to get a refund. Their phones are disconnected and the building isn't open. I was really excited to try them but I guess I lost my money and they lost a customer.

I ordered for the 1st time today and the food was very good and perfectly seasoned. The owner was very nice and welcoming. I got the Okra soup with goat and fufu. She told me that she makes Okra with seafood, so I can't wait to go back to try that dish as well. Very delicious food.
