Ocean Galley Seafood

My family and I have been eating here for years. We have always enjoyed our food. We haven’t eaten there in a while, maybe things changed or we just went on a bad day? I ordered the fried shrimp and scallops combo to go, for my hubby. I wanted to surprise him with it when he came home. I drove all the way home (Newington), before opening up his plate. I was so disappointed. It looked like a child’s plate with frozen, deep fried seafood. To think that little plate of food cost $26, for one person and I still had to cook…… 🤦🏼‍♀️

I was asked what I wanted to drink, I asked for a water. The waitress checked on the table behind and in front of me still nothing to drink. Then the customers in front of me was checked on again. I decided to leave and as I was leaving was asked if I wanted tea. There was maybe 5/6 customers. I want be back!!

I ordered the smoker tuna dip. Here’s a tip replace that original cream cheese with “SOFTENING”cream cheese, for a better blend of tuna and cream cheese. Another tip, please ensure that your front counter person knows the protocol when it comes to customer complaints. Please have a blessed day.

My son and I visited Ocean Galley last week. It was our first time and I must say that I was truly impressed, not only with the menu and food but also with the service. Our order was taken promptly, our food was served just as ordered, and was absolutely delicious. My food was fried but my son chose one of the grilled options. Both orders were perfectly prepared, including the onion petals and fried green tomato appetizers, which I LOVED! Our waitress was attentive and kept our tea glasses filled throughout our meal. I'll definitely be returning to Ocean Galley!

This place has a reputation as being an old people's restaurant and you can see that when you walk in. It is just a basic restaurant, no TV, no fancy decorations and lot of retired people stretching their dollars. What it does have is tasty seafood and friendly servers for a great price. Not a romantic date night kind of place, but if you want shrimp, oysters, scallops, flounder, etc. You can't beat Ocean Galley.

Being from out of state and this only being my third time here, I say thank I will return each time I’m in the area. Kat the waitress was a hoot and extremely delightful. The food was priced well and the quality and quantity were spot on.

One of my favorite places to eat in Statesboro! Always good!!!

I was traveling through Statesboro and found this restaurant on google maps. I’m so glad I decided to try this spot out. It’s a small restaurant in a shopping plaza, but don’t let that fool you! The staff was super friendly and helpful. I received my food quickly and it was hot AND fresh. The portions were huge and the prices were extremely good…especially for seafood. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others and I plan on returning, myself. Special thanks to Ms Kat who was my server today! She was awesome 👍🏼
