A great place for date night! Food is scrumptious, and the cocktails are top notch. A sure bet for your special occasion as it is a bit more upscale than most of the other restaurants in the area.

Food was cold and nothing special especially for the prices. Very loud. There were tables available however we were told there would be a 15 minute wait. After 30 minutes we had to ask to be seated again.

We loved Sugar Magnolia Bistro & Bar so much, we visited twice during out trip! Ny husband and I were in town for a series of events at GSU. We had a little bit of time to kill between events and decided to get a bite and a drink at Sugar Magnolia. I ordered the shrimp caesar salad and an espresso martini. The salad was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I needed. The espresso martini was decent and creamy. They also gave us complimentary bread that was divine. My husband couldn't stop talking about Sugar Magnolia, so we went back after one of our events. Service was fast and friendly. The space is clean and cozy. The prices are reasonable. The food and drinks are solid. Great spot to check out!

The service was great. Our server was very efficient and knowledgeable.I had the filet with mashed potatoes and grilled broccolini. It was one of the better filets i have had. It was cooked to a perfect medium. My daughter had the caesar salad which was phenomenal. She also ordered the soup of the day. it was corn potato chowder. she doesnt eat meat so she asked how it was prepared beforehand. She was told it was made with chicken broth which was fine. however, it had chunks of sausage in it. She picked around it but the kitchen may want to be more detail oriented when it comes to knowledge of preparation in case of food allergies. They had oysters on special so i ordered a half dozen at 3.50 per oyster. For the price i wasnt impressived at the size or taste. they were incredibly small. As someone who works in the industry i know restaurants cant control the quality or size of the food they recieve and therefore have to sell it or lose money so that takes nothing away from this restaurant as i know that was completely out of their realm of control. The mignonette that was served with the oysters was very good tho.All in all, this is a five star restaurant. From the libations, the service and the food i would say this is definitely one of the better restaurants in Statesboro and we will definitely be returning.I have heard nothing but the absolute best things about their brunch and look forward to trying it soon.Kudos to the Chef and Staff of Sugar Magnolia.

I have been frequenting this establishment for a few months now and can confidently say that Sugar Magnolia is one of the best cafes in Statesboro (if not the best). They have bread on the shelves pretty much every day of the week, which speaks to their consistency. I have a bread schedule to verify this. The food is great whether its brunch waffles or spaghetti carbonara for dinner. The service is excellent with an array of experienced bartenders and baristas. I have never had an outrageous wait time even on busy days, especially when Emily is working. Emily is a shining example of the kind of excellent service I am talking about. She always appears to have a great attitude and goes out of her way to make sure you are taken care of. This may be the only cafe I have ever frequented that almost always has Bob Ross playing and I have no choice but to be in a good mood when I see him painting trees on the TV. All in all, I recommend Sugar Magnolia to anyone wants a good cafe experience and/or breathes. Peace.Parking: If the parking lot is full, park in the empty lot across the railroad tracks. If that lot is full, God Bless.

This was my first time eating at Sugar Magnolia. My first impressions was high energy, great atmosphere but warm. The service was outstanding. The wait staff wasn't hitting us. They brought us our drinks, which were very good, and let us enjoy them before asking if we wanted to start with any starters. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip with cristini bread and it was delicious. I ordered the 14oz steak and pomfriets. The steak was cook to perfection and the fries were really good. My wife had the shrimp ravioli.and it too was delicious. The cost of the food was very reasonable for the quality of service and food. It is was better than the other high end restaurant in Statesboro.

First off, the staff is amazing. My problem however, is with ownership. A few days ago my fiance and i brought my bosses out for some cocktails at happy hour. Drinks were great and we were having a great time until someone decided we were too loud for their liking. So the owner comes over and mentions this, we immediately apologize. The part that is unacceptable is that after this, said owner decided to share some disparaging remarks about my fiance with my bosses. If this is acceptable behavior for management to treat their guests, then i truly feel bad for what the staff there has to deal with. This place will never see another penny of my money, and i would recommend people spend their money somewhere with much better ownership. As a couple that has spent thousands of dollars there(and hosting our engagement party there), this is completely unacceptable.

Honest review. My expectations were very disappointing. Cold frites, burger was cold, greasy. Took a while to get our food. Busy time at lunch. The lavender coffee was good that was about all we can say. Husbands expresso was only 1/4 of a coffee cup.Not even half. Highly disappointed ?I could have honesty went to chick Fila and gotten hot food. We spent 52$. Sadly won’t be back.

Everything is always great. We are an hour away but anytime we are in statesboro we make it a point to stop by. Always great service but the last time we went we had Q as our server. Can't remember her name but her nickname was Q. She was awesome and the coffee was also.

12/28/2023 Took my best friend for lunch to celebrate his birthday. We ordered the chicken artichoke sandwiches on multi-grain bread along with a side order of fries. After an hour wait time, the food arrived and wasn’t as ordered. We waited ten minutes for the waitress to return and another fifteen for correct order to be delivered. No utensils, no napkins and the ketchup we requested, was being “prepared”. The seasoning (Tarragon?) was overpowering and neither my friend nor I could eat any of the sandwiches. We informed the waitress the fries were good but sandwiches were not edible. She returned with the check which management adjusted for a whopping 10% discount. I asked to speak with the manager, he arrived and asked me “What do you want?” My reply, “I’m not asking for anything free but, I think it’s unjust to charge me 90% for food we couldn’t eat. The manager stated, that’s the way this sandwich is always prepared so, in the future when you return, this sandwich probably isn’t for you. He did offer desert, we declined. On top of the food issue, the table was in such poor condition that it snagged my new sweater several times that I had just received for Christmas. This was our third and last time dining with Sugar Magnolias.
