What a beautiful lunch experience at Dorothy Mae's Soul Food Kitchen
From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. The atmosphere is cozy, warm, and inviting. It feels like sitting at your grandmother's table for Sunday dinner. The food was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious.
Mr. Rickey was incredibly kind and hospitable, and it's clear he has gifted hands in the kitchen. Everything we tried from the fried wings and fish to the mac and cheese and candied yams was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. Every bite felt like it was made with care and love.
The prices are very reasonable, and while there is a small dining area for those who want to eat in, takeout is also available.
If you're looking for authentic soul food that nourishes more than just your appetite, this is the place. You can truly feel the soul and love in every dish. Highly recommended this and a nap afterwards..LOL! Thanks Mr. Rickey for taking good care of us.

I visited this establishment on yesterday for the first time. I ordered a catfish plate/peach cobbler and all was good except for the dessert unfortunately. Those collard greens were to die for.

Me and my finance went here yesterday to get some soul food. Im very pleased with the food the whole chicken wings was fried to protection and had a nice flavor taste. The collard greens, macaroni and cheese, potatoes salad and yams was on point. The service and atmosphere was clean and smelling good. Im a cook myself and I'm very funny about other people food. But I'm very well pleased with Dorothy Mae soul food. Will be back again.

I am deeply disappointed with this restaurant! I just received my order and it was NOT worth the wait! If I had known the servings were one and half tablespoons, I would have never ordered! This must be a child’s plate! I will NEVER order from this establishment again! Don’t posts photographs of your food increasing the magnification 100x the actual size! This a small saucerπŸ‘€

Dorothy Mae's Soul Food really hit the yummy for me. The food was flavorful, comforting, and tasted like a good home-cooked meal made with love. The portions were generous, and everything had that warm, down-home soul food flavor that makes you want to come back again. And I definitely will be back πŸ—£ to family and friends and they're coming too πŸ˜‹πŸ™πŸΎ

Order through DoorDash, and even after the dasher Made other stops my Food was hot, Perfectly seasoned and I can tell they paid attention to the packaging. I ordered The two piece whiting Mac & cheese and candied yams. Mac & cheese was top notch, Yams were fresh, as was the Whiting and perfectly battered and fried. And the whole meal cost me less than $13

Food was excellent. Not oversalted like many restaurants. I happy this place opened close to my home.

The delicious southern soul food is well worth the extra effort to find this location! We came to this spot in a business park type setting just after work on a weekday and had no wait. I had the whole fried wings and they were just right, not overseasoned and lightly breaded. My sides of collards and mac and cheese was some of the best I've had outside my family's kitchen. My co-worker had the honey lemon pepper drummettes with peach cobbler and she said they were very tasty. Highly recommend this restaurant for good old-fashioned southern cooking!
Tip: the main entrance into the building is not where the restaurant is located, go toward the right side of the building (see picture) and you'll see the signs for it. Food was served hot, fresh and pretty quickly but keep in mind this isn't a fast food place so plan accordingly. We waited about 10 minutes or so for our food so if you visit during lunch or dinner rush you might want to order in advance. Perhaps some of the reviews are outdated but we did not see or use a kiosk to place an order; we were greeted by a polite and personable young man who took our order and payment (card only) and provided our bags once ready.
*This place is take-out only but there are a few chairs inside where you can sit while waiting for your food.*
