A-J's Dockside Restaurant

Worse experience ever. Our party arrived at 6:30pm and was seated outside. We had to read the menu with our phone flashlight. Our food was not only served long after we ordered but was cold. They ran out of mashed potatoes so we received cold French fries. Shrimp taco was cold. No one apologized for anything. Lost respect for the entire establishment.

Very pretty location, wait staff were friendly and attentive. Food was inadequate. Whoever recommends this restaurant based on the food should be embarrassed. Soup was room temperature, probably tasty if served at proper temperature. Mashed potatoes were cold. Fried oysters and grilled shrimp were overdone. Fried flounder was cooked well but underseasoned. Such a disappointment.

Fantastic sunsets on the dock! Food was good. Shrimp and hush puppies!… best hush puppies ever!! Ate all of them. Mahi-mahi was a bit dry, but the sunset can’t be beat! We always go to AJs when on Tybee!

What a perfect place to watch the sunset. Service was great as well as pet and children welcomed. We ended our girls' trip at Tybee with wonderful drinks,appetizers, seafood, and desert that we all took home. We all would definitely go back.

Had a great diner and enjoyed it out on the deck, beautiful sunset and after. Live music by a single guitar musician with a nice mix of classic rock and country caused us to stay for another round before heading back to our RV for the night!

I really wanted to like this place. We made a reservation for dinner at Sunset based of people we spoke to. From the time we walked in we felt like we were not wanted there. Waitress who also claimed she managed too was god awful. She did not check on us, and did not tell us specials, we heard her tell another table she got or would get in trouble if they went to the bar to buy more drinks. The table asked to speak to a manager and was told she was the manager and walked away. The food was overpriced for the quality, which we expected a higher quality, the crab cake was burnt and served anyway. The guy who delivered the food told us to give our dishes to the white boy. We are still confused by his statement, he was a bus boy or food runner. The only thing we can think of was he didn't think that was his job, and maybe it wasn't but we did not have room for extra dishes with our main dishes on the table. The bugs were horrible and a table begged them to turn on the fans, that helped, but the fan by us was broken. A warning, if you sit at the end of the dock at sunset you are swarmed with people taking pictures and lose any enjoyment of your company. For $180 bill for three people and only one mixed drink. Nope not worth it. We have paid a lot more for two people and will go back over and over again, but not this place. Wish it was better, and hope we caught them on a bad night, and your experience is better.
