Took a moment to find...It's on the 2nd floor. Well worth the walk up those steps. We had Thai Chicken, Jerked Chicken, and Prime rib melt. All were great! Service was excellent as well!
Great food, great drinks, great people!
Best brewery I have stopped at in a while, I tried the Old School IPA and it was superb. Best IPA I tasted along the Georgia and NE FL coast all week. Food was amazing, I came during lunch time and both the cook and bartender were friendly and talkative and overall a great experience. Highly recommend this place when you're on Tybee!
Super friendly place. And the food is so delicious.
Great bites and libations.
Easy drinking beer and an easy-going vibe. 👌
Easily the best place on the island.
Really good IPAs (two on the menu) brewed on Tybee island with fantastic food options (we got the quesadilla). Great bartender even with a full house and great atmosphere. A must try
Good beer with fun, engaging staff and fantastic food! I'm so glad we stopped in on a rainy Saturday afternoon and stayed long enough to get hungry and eat. Would definitely go again!
Our group of 6 women happened upon this wonderful brewery/restaurant accidentally and it was a highlight of our week on Tybee Island! Beer and craft cocktails were excellent, but beyond that we met with the chef, Casey, a young chef trained in Savannah and Charleston under a French chef and other regional cuisine chefs. Chef went thru the whole menu with us and we ordered one of almost everything on the menu. He made each dish into 6 tasting portions for us and truly-each bite was delicious! He had such interesting takes on bruschetta and quesadillas, chicken salad and cantaloupe and watermelon salad. And his seasonings- incredible! In fact we all asked if we could buy some of his seasonings to take home with us and he gave us some in plastic carry out containers from his kitchen mix. The dining area is small, simple and charming, which only adds to the pleasurable surprise of every sip and bite. I have no doubt that Chef Casey and the Back River Brewery will be an up And coming place to eat, drink and tell your friends about! Can’t wait to go back on my next trip to Tybee!! Highly Recommend!!

The bartender with the dreadlocks is the rudest bartender we have ever encountered. We just asked her for the beer prices and she went postal on us. We just stood up and left without purchasing anything. She needs a lesson in service. We will never ever go there again.
Everything was great-food,brew,service,ambiance--will be back again an again
WOW!!! Michael was our bartender and we had an absolute blast. He had made some epic meatball sliders that he let us try and … I’ll be thinking about that meatball for a long time. Beers were great and there were lots of different styles. Michael made me THE most delicious craft cocktail I had on our whole trip. Can’t say enough good things about our experience at the Back River Brewery and can’t wait to come back.

Back River Brewery offers an outstanding experience, combining exceptional food and drinks with a welcoming atmosphere. The brewery's selection of craft beers is impressive, with unique flavors that cater to every palate. The food is equally remarkable; each dish is thoughtfully crafted and deliciously satisfying.
One standout aspect of my visit was the personable staff, especially bartender Michael. He went above and beyond, providing excellent recommendations and creating a warm, friendly environment that made us feel right at home. His knowledge of the menu and passion for the brewery truly enhanced our experience.
Overall, Back River Brewery is a must-visit for anyone looking for great food, excellent drinks, and a friendly vibe. I can’t wait to return!

Wow another hidden gem on Tybee!!! We'd been told the beer and smoked meats were good but wow. The caprese salad with farm fresh tomatoes, mozzarella pesto/basaltic glaze and fresh crispy bacon was fantastic. The Berry salad was great and the smoked prime rib sandwich incredible not to mention the bong water ipa was spot on. Highly recommend trying out Back River Brewery that also has big and well placed TVs for a great sporting event too!
