This place is just amazing. We were seated right at the water. The atmosphere is so laid back and happy. No bad vibes here. Our server, Lauren was the sweetest thing. The food was sooo good. Fastest service I have ever experienced. The crab was spectacular, as well as the shrimp. The gift shop, the birds and the gators all top it off. My four year old got to feed the baby gators. It was just an incredible memory making place.Kid-friendliness: There is a kids menu as well.

Must visit if you are in the Tybee area. Great customer service and atmosphere. Snow country boil is good but the sausage is not my favorite. I am a local so Roger Wood is in my low country boils. Not bad if you are looking for a quick seafood fix.

I got the low country boil. The corn was mushy, had been frozen. The potatoes were overcooked and mushy. The shrimp were OK. The sausage was average. There was little taste to the whole thing. The little bit of Old Bay seasoning that they used was cut with so much salt that salt was all I could taste. The "aviary" was just a room full of bird cages. None of the birds seemed happy to me. The whole place has turned into such a tourist trap that it has lost its charm and quality. But the service was good!Parking: The parking is congested and limited relative to the number of tables they serve.

Love the food, people, and ambiance! The views are nice, the set up is easy and ready for you to dig in and get dirty. They have sinks set up for you to wash in a couple areas, no worries, you don't just get a couple of wet wipes on your way out!If you would like, you can feed the gators and go visit the birds as well! Have family gatherings and birthdays there. You have the option for both inside and outside areas. Fun family atmosphere.

Beautiful place with a cozy feel. The outdoors is planned really well, utilizing the shade of the trees to cover most of the tables. There's a gentle breeze from the waters. Delicious food, prompt service and adorable baby alligators around the property.

As much as we love to travel, certain challenges are always involved. One of them is just how do you wrap up a cherished trip when you really aren’t ready to go home yet?Well for this wonderful exploration of parts of Georgia, we decided that a fitting farewell should involve a “Low Country Boil.” Apparently this is properly pronounced, “Loh Cuntrah Boll” and it deserves your priority attention if you ever have the opportunity to experience one!We chose “The Crab Shack” on Tybee Island and what a unique destination it turned out to be. This mostly outdoor restaurant is situated so close to Chimney Creek that you can’t help but scan your surroundings for wildlife. As it turns out, that instinct isn’t misguided as there is an alligator lagoon located on the property. ?If a “feast” is what we were hoping for it became immediately clear that we weren’t going to rise from our table disappointed. Although Dana and I placed different orders, our immediate reaction was the same, “Who is gonna help us eat all of this food?”I found myself plowing through the crab legs, muscles, and shrimp of my seafood platter, but avoiding the corn, sausage, and little red critters for different reasons. I figured the corn was more of a garnish than anything (I was wrong, it was incredibly sweet), I couldn’t understand why sausage was invited to this party (I found out it was invited because of how well it paired with the shrimp in particular), and with the little red critters I was just stalling while I kept a careful eye on them to check for movement. ?When I could delay the inevitable no longer, I called our server over and said, “I have 3 questions. What are these little guys? Am I supposed to eat them? If so, how???” ?♂️She patiently reassured me that the little red critters are “crayfish” (but called and pronounced “crawfish”) and then demonstrated how to prepare them for consumption (the faint of heart should be grateful that I’m gonna spare you that part). While bibs were not offered to us, you may want to request one as my shirt bore the weight of the remnants of the meal that would be traveling home with me.And that’s…Henry’s Take.#lowcountryboil
