Disappointing Experience
We were really looking forward to trying this Japanese steakhouse, but it was a letdown from start to finish. The sushi was very average — small pieces and loosely rolled. We ordered a California roll, and my guess didn’t even know it came with masago on top. My guest prefers simple sushi and had never seen that on a roll before. She politely asked for another one without masago, and they said they’d charge for both — the original and the replacement!
When she didn’t like it, they took it away and still insisted we pay for it. Never heard of such a policy anywhere. Between the mediocre food and poor service, it’s definitely not worth the visit. Thankfully, we’re just passing through and won’t have to come back.

We went there on 10/1/25 with my 2 brothers and 3 of us had the NY strip and shrimp and 1 had the salmon and shrimp. We all had the fried rice. This was the first time we had been there in several years. Sort of shocked that they automatically added 18% to the bill as a supposed tip to the chef and server. The food was not as good as it used to be. The portions were smaller and the chef was so intent on getting the children at the same table amused that he totally lost track of the time he had been cooking the shrimp and steak, which was supposed to be medium rare and medium on our order. Then the shrimp was way overcooked on all the orders. This used to be our favorite place on special occasions but sadly it was probably the last time we ever go there. Bye the way, our bill was $185.00 for the 4 of us so they have definitely gone up on the price but service has really suffered.
Food is just okay.. and soo over priced. The servings are small so you can’t share and everything is an up charge..

Don't have a party of 5 or more. Someone will be sitting off to the side with a post in their way and in the dark. They also are charging 18% extra to have no room and no view of the show. Do yourself a favor and find a better place.

This was my first time visiting Mori, and the service was AMAZING. The staff was very nice and helpful with understanding the menu options, and the chef at the hibachi grill kept us laughing while preparing our meal. The food was hot and fresh, and we will definitely be coming back! Thanks for the great service!

$10 just to be seated you people are out of your minds
Amazing!!! This is by far the best sushi and atmosphere in Valdosta! The sushi, sides, drinks were all so good! Staff was friendly and helpful with any questions we had. To top it off the normal sit down area was so calm and relaxing!

Great personalitys. Poor service. Dirty restaurant. Ridiculous billing procedures. Wasn’t upset about the long wait to be seated. However we didn’t expect our dining experience to take us 3 hours. The chef and waitress had a great personality but like I said 3 hours… we were held captive waiting for our check for 45 minutes. also have never been to a hibachi restaurant that charges $10 for a baby to have their own chair? We also were charged separately for our rice which was a really small portion compared to the norm- usually a $35-40 plate would include rice you would think. Would not recommend.
When in Atlanta do spend a meal here at Mori. You won’t be disappointed. The quality of the beef is top notch.

Sat down for the hibachi and was severely disappointed between the show and the temperature of the food. All the proteins came out overdone, including the steak shrimp and salmon. Would not recommend, nor will I ever go back.
