Taqueria Tapatio's Authentic Mexican Restaurant

They say the service can make the food taste better. The food is already great. But the service.... even the way they accommodate the disgruntled customer.... I'll come back just for the character of the staff.

Food is delicious

Cinco De Mayo always brings one thing to my mind first — a Corona-Rita. If you know, you know. Frozen margarita. Upside-down Corona. A perfect celebration drink with just enough edge to make the night feel official.

My wife and I decided to try Taqueria Tapatio’s near one of our frequent shopping spots, and the experience immediately delivered. I walked in fully prepared to explain what a Corona-Rita was, only to find out they already had their own version called a “Margarona.” At that point, I knew we were in the right place.

Between the salsa, the beef queso, and those steak nachos, we were completely locked in. The nachos were so good we kept reaching back into the plate long after we were full. Even days later, I still catch myself thinking about finishing that tray.

The atmosphere felt welcoming, the service stayed attentive, and the entire place carried the kind of energy that makes you want another round and another visit. Taqueria Tapatio’s turned a casual Cinco De Mayo stop into one of those meals you keep replaying in your mind afterward.

We’ll definitely be back.

Left ATL headed home, stopped by for lunch and I can confidently say this is the best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever ate at.

I very rarely review restaurants. This is the epitome of a professional service operation. The food (California Tacos, twice) is the freshest food I've had at a restaurant in a year or two. This isn't something I would typically notice - it's that well prepared. I ate one for lunch the next day and it was still great. Try them.

The staff communicates and is familiar with the menu and polite. The drinks were great, and the girl drinks are huge and loaded. If I were to give them advice for perfection, it would be more awareness of the events they show on the TVs at the bar. The prices are fine given the portions, not impressively low. If you haven't eaten here, the food is way ahead of most alternatives locally, and the service is comparable or better.
