I’ve tried the Fort Valley location a few times and they are hit or miss. They are improving, but as I said hit or miss. So, I decided to try the Russell location because I saw they had dressing. Maybe it was a miss day because I can only give it one star. The turkey wings and baked pork chops were soggy on the bottom, but super dry on top to the point I couldn’t even bite them. They were also very bland. The peppers and onions were bland as well and crunchy. I would recommend lining the pan with them and cooking the pork chops on top instead of separately. The fried green tomato was okay. It needed a pinch of salt…not much but a tad. But the tomato itself was juicy. The dressing was slightly bland, but the texture was good. I think it had chicken in it, which was a little tough. It needed a little more seasoning or herbs to enhance the flavor. The Mac and cheese was lacking cheese and slightly overcooked. It too, lacked seasoning. I could taste the pepper, but it needed more cheese and seasoning. The heat lamp may have dried the meats out on their tops. I think it could be better with a little enhancement. The customer service of the employees at both establishments are always great though.

I've visited here around 10 times so far and each experience has rocked my world. The staff here always makes me feel right at home and is patient with each customer as we ogle at all the great options to customize a plate. I can tell each dish is crafted with love from a recipe that has withstood the test of time. They have the best dagum collard greens. Fried pork chop is off the chain. Catfish is slammin. All the sides taste like they want to be the star of the plate. The menu rotates every day and it's all special.

Choices were good, no disappointment, as usual. Sometimes, I do have to taste before I huy.

Dietary restrictions: They gotcha.

Kid-friendliness: It's small but possible. It used to be a Krystal's there.

Wheelchair accessibility: I'm not sure, but I will check and update.

The ladies at Fried Green Tomatoes have created a place to get great southern cuisine that tastes just like grandma used to make.

Pros: The food and customer service are great! I couldn’t find anything on the menu I didn’t enjoy. Service was always with a smile and joyful in every way. While the restaurant itself is a little dated (patina is what I call it), it also felt like what a small family restaurant should feel like… welcoming and comfortable. The food service preparation areas were clean and well maintained.

Cons: I don’t live close enough to Fried Green Tomatoes to frequent this establishment.

Bottom line… Fried Green Tomatoes is a fantastic place to eat some good, southern food at reasonable prices. You won’t be disappointed!

My apologies for not being specific with a plate. As soon as my family and I sat down after a long drive, we started to eat. The pictures show macaroni and cheese, cabbages, fried green tomatoes 🍅, fried wings, baked chicken, and chicken 🐔 livers. I also enjoyed the peach cobbler not shown. The ladies are very courteous, and the portions are good.

Vegetarian options: Cabbages and sweet potatoes, to name a few.

Parking: The parking lot is of a reasonable size. Easily accommodating a large crowd.

Since stumbling upon this restaurant a little over a year ago, it has been my go-to eatery, especially when I want to be able to choose between a variety of nice, hot meals.
The service I've gotten has been second to none, to the degree that I've gone from one visit a week to three/four visits. The customer service is impeccable.

I've been most enamored, as well, with the management. I'll name two because they're the only ones who's names I know: Ms. T.J. and Ms. Shavon.
These managers - and I apologize for any omission of others who've been integral - have set a culture that has truly changed my opinion of the very ilk; a team with a great mix of young & experienced staff is always on hand each time I visit and there's never a problem.

Yesterday - Sunday 09/29/2024 - I arrived just after opening. And the first thing I hear is a customer/guest that couldn't seem to keep his thoughts to himself/his mouth closed.
When he got to the register, he was greeted by a young lady. She was very professional, rang up his order, gave him change properly, so there was absolutely no problem with her. But the customer began, without any reason or provocation whatsoever, to badger the cashier, causing her to feel embarrassed and she was visibly shaken by the man's assault on her intelligence.

Being an avid customer, myself, before I could say something to him in the cashier's defense, Ms. T.J. had taken the cause and in the fairest & firmest manner that I've in any setting of the ilk, she defended her staff, never raised her voice and certainly got her point across.

Okay, I may be a little bit biased, but because each subsequent experience I have had has been better..........I've been in Middle Georgia for better than 15 years and this one is the very best run I've seen, hands down......and the warm, welcoming atmosphere, coupled with great food, reasonably priced is a huge reason why I keep coming.

I have to give kudos to T.J. and Shavon for making this Fried Green Tomatoes location my "Must-Go-To." And, of course, for setting that culture, showing that young men and young women who might be first-time employees can rise above irate customers and those who simply lack people skills, themselves.
That staff is great, due to the training they've received; that training that, to this dedicated customer, has the collective imprint of their management team.
As they say in another setting: "My Pleasure" is what visiting this location is!!

First time trying here tonight with my Mother. The place was very clean, we were greeted in a timely manner from entry, the food was great but the best part(next to the food obviously haha) was the service! I don’t know their name but it was a short hair white girl who served my mother and I- she was so sweet and was working really hard which definitely went unnoticed by anyone else, 10/10 multitasking skills. I’ve worked the restaurant industry before and let me tell you, yall have yourselves a great worker right there.
