GG's Southern Kitchen

I went back because it has been a little over a year since I last visited. They have done a lot of updates and it looks good. It's brighter and has a more soothing feel. The food was good and service was evenly paced. Nice place to sit and catch-up.Previous Review: This is the best fresh kitchen I have come across. Everything that I have tired has been really good. Today's suprise chili was the best chili I have ever had.

The food is ABSOLUTELY delicious, BUT the portions do t mrch the price they charge. Tou can go to Liz's, Andersons and other places and get WAY MORE FOR YOUR MONEY. Yes, food is exensive but if we are paying more money there shouldnt be child sized sides for ADULTS. Got to give to get. We give but not getting

This was our first visit to GG's and we were excited to give this southern cooking restaurant a try. They are close to where we live and we enjoy finding good local restaurants.We both had the Sunday Soul Food selection of Roasted Chicken and Dressing with 2 sides. I ordered Broccoli & Cheese casserole and Yams. My hubby had the Yams with Lima Beans. He asked for Squash Casserole which is on the menu but the waitress said it wasn't ready and wouldn't be for a long time because they just started cooking it. We were there around noon for lunch on Sunday.The waitress took our order and we never saw her again until we got tired of waiting for her to bring our ticket after eating and found her at the cash register. We didn't get any refills on our beverages nor did anyone ever stop by our table to see if we needed anything.A nice young man from the kitchen delivered our food and was kind enough to go get our beverages after leaving our food.The atmosphere is quite nice and the restaurant has a pleasant vibe.The food was good. The service was non-existent.

Good , 4/5 stars because when I called to place an order, they said they only have chicken and a hand full of side available. Food is good for the area ?

This was our first time coming with family from Michigan today. Upon arrival we were told they were having a private party and it would be carry out only. We said ok I guess. Big mistake. Then two family members of the casheir walked in and sat down. While waiting about 30 minutes I noticed the hostess took two plates to the family that walked in after us, packed their food, and then they left. I didn't see them pay tho. Then finally our food came out. Since we had no choice but to take it home unfortunately it was a really big disappointment. Food was greasy, the Mac and cheese was dry no flavor. The chicken wast totally bland, greasy, and under cooked. Yams tasted like nutmeg only. The porkchops was ok, a little too dark. Nothing special. For $70 bucks you have to do better than that. I can say the greens was the best thing on my plate. Even the cornbread was hard and old. I'm not sure if I will ever bring friends and family here for this kind of service. I told my group let's go to old times instead. Now they all wish we had left the and went there. Gotta do better for my business.

Hello Georgia, here visiting from Deeeeeetroooooit was told by Pastor Tolan Morgan this food is good. He brought us here. I had the cube steak greens and macaroni and cheese. I must say..... everything is AWESOME the food, service, atmosphere even the music. May GOD CONTINUE to bless you GG we shall return!!!

I love this place. The food was delicious and seasoned just right… The smothered pork chops are awesome. I’m most definitely going back there.

It was my first time here. I love the atmosphere. The service was great. I had the fried chicken, collards, and macaroni and cheese. The chicken was fried crispy and was very good. The macaroni and cheese was delicious and the greens tasted as like my mom cooked them. I will definitely be returning.

Oh my goodness! What an amazing experience! Wonderful staff, amazing food and the juiciest pork chops I have ever had. We will highly recommend GG’s and will be back for sure!

Me and my significant other was recommended here by a Dear Friend of Ours and I'm So Glad She Did!!! Everything we ordered, from the Mac & Cheese, Cornbread Dressing down to the Deliciously prepared Ribs (a very good portion I may add) ? to the Awesome Crispy but Moist Fried to Perfection Chicken Breast and Wing... Oh My God, This Food Hit Home!!! Then we looked at the menu and saw where it says on Tuesdays Oxtails....I Can't Wait til Tuesday. I'm Ready to Invite the Whole Family here after Church Service.... Thank You GG Family for bringing your delicious food our way. We Love it!

If I had to describe this place I'd say it was phenomenal. The food was amazing. I had the fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and mac and cheese. Fried chicken was moist and had a crunchy skin. Mashed potatoes were the perfect texture and the mac and cheese was to die for. The service was amazing and the ambiance was nice. One thing I didn't expect was to get all of my food for such a small price. It's definitely worth the money and definitely my go-to spot.

If I could give this place a 10 star I would!!!!! Great southern food, like grandma used to make!!! Great prices!!!!

Best fried chicken I’ve had in a long time… definitely going back soon

Great food, great service and nicely sized portions. Their menu is not over complicated with dozens of different entries. We tried three of the six different entries listed for today, everyone of us was happy and will be back to try other items that were not on today's menu.Our three year old niece normally won't touch restaurant mac & cheese she ate it like there was no tomorrow and would not share her green beans with anybody.
