My husband and try to make it a date almost every Saturday to come to Shells . We have been coming so much during lunch our usual waitress knew how I liked my tea ( a glass of tea and a half glass of water… she new why:)). Well today (Lawd) my husband and returned for our fish and shrimp meal the waitress came over to seat us (new… to me never send her before …with the earring in her lip) I aske can we sit in front of the bar? She rudely stated “no” so I said to my husband that was a rude no . We preceded to follow her she takes us to a table in the back in the middle of the isle next to a wet floor sign I stated “ can we sit over here ?”. She stated again “no” you have to sit in this area I stated we don’t want to sit in the middle of the floor. She stated you have to sit here I stated “no we don’t that’s not a place anyone wants to sit”. She walked away which meant two things 1. Forget y’all and 2. I will not try to accommodate. Well to the owner sir/ madam please move the wet sign table and chairs and you have definitely lost two customers and their friends it may not mean anything to you as the owner but it meant a lot to us coming to your establishment every month and enjoying your delicious food. We love black own businesses… everyone is not meant to work in the service industry.We were at your establishment later than usual it was about 4:00-4:30.

The atmosphere we gave a one star- we saw a guy trip because it is dangerous ? the raised platform should be unraised for safety :) ? service 5 stars our waitress was wonderful right on time with everything - but bring your own worchestershire sauce if making a special sauce for the oyster...but that brings me to the oyster- all you will be eating is the sauce..because the oyster in the half shell need to stay in the kitchen. NOW THE SHRIMP and hushpuppies - were delicious- I would call them run your mouth puppies becuase they were very good!!! Scallops were good as well. This meal below will run you 43 dollars please also note they charge to use your debit card / credit card 3.5%
The low country boil with Cajun seasoning is ridiculously good. My waitress was attentive and brimming with southern hospitality.

Almost everything I ate has been good. Couldn’t stop eating from here! The servers are excellent! I love the scallops, fried fish, steak, lobster, wings, garlic mash and the vegetables. Ordered a shrimp boil and it wasn’t great - it wasn’t hot. Ordered mussels they weren’t hot. The gator bites are delicious as well as the house made sauces. The atmosphere is awesome. A furniture uplift would take it from a 4 to a 5. If you’re looking for fancy dining - don’t bother, but if you want great fresh food, awesome service, drinks and a nice atmosphere - you won’t be disappointed. Food would have gotten a 5 except for the 2 instances where it wasn’t hot to me! I’ll continue to eat here! The owner served me on one occasion and she was awesome! This is all around a great place to dine or takeout!
When I entered the restaurant, I expect to sit down and eat, but but the music played by a DJ had people singing and it was incredibly loud. Way too loud to sit and have a nice dinner. I ordered the large portion to go. It came up timely and tasted just like it looked, good. Not sure if I'd ever go back though.
