Excellent food and a great place for oysters on the half shell. My only criticism is pricing. It's expensive.But food is good, portions are nice and service is very good. Maybe if there was a lunch menu?Items run $20+ each, and up from there. $20 is on the low end.

Had an interesting experience trying this place out.The restaurant is really nice inside and the people were really friendly as well. The food just wasn't very good.I ordered 3 items .Crab cake appetizer -The crab cakes did not look very appetizing, but the flavor was good .My issue is i had several bites where i was eating just filling and no crab.Fried shrimp and Oyster basket .(Portion does not match the price)My oysters were the size of a quarter and severly over cooked . It seemed as if they cooked them earlier in the day and just reheated themThe shrimp was also over cooked .Calamari appetizer(Portion does not match the price)The calamari itself was actually the best item I ordered . The issue was the marinera sauce that came with it and for me that is equally as important as the calamari itself.I don't know if I was given spoiled marinera sauce or what, but it was literally the worst I've had in my life. It tasted like some kind of foreign substance was mixed in and not tomatoes, garlic, Italian seasoning etc.The atmosphere is nice and I'm sure they have other items they do well, but based on menu prices and my experience, I don't think I'd try them out again.

This used to be one of my go to places. Service has been on steady decline my last few times there. The cheddar jalapeno stuffed hush puppies were burnt, the Cole slaw was awful, and the best thing I can say is at least they didn't mess up the fried shrimp. They charge extra to use a credit or debit card. The waitress was not very attentive, I had one small glass of sweet tea that was done before my meal came out and didn't get refilled again until I was getting my check. And for the prices I expected better of this establishment.

Food Coma! Mimi and I haven't been to O'Shucks in a while as we keep running weekend errands in Athens. I'd rate this a 4.5 as I recalibrated a 5 Star Review for my NYC Vacay at Michelin Star Restaurants. This is a great neighborhood seafood eats that we both like to go to being FL Girls. Normally we have the smoked fish spread. But it looked like there was a menu update and I ordered a Dozen Fully Loaded Oysters which were baked with plenty of parmesan, garlic, and bacon. I had the Monster Fried Food Combo Basket but I'm not into fries and coleslaw. They let me sub out for boiled garlic potatoes and fried okra. My platter had fried fish, oysters, jumbo scallops and jumbo shrimp. I basically took an entire filet of boneless fish home. And I'm usually a big lunch eater who orders extra seafood on the side. Mimi had Whiskey Shrimp Pasta which was a cream sauce with caramelized onions and bacon which I've had before and is really good. Today's dessert special was a Tiramisu with Espresso soaked lady fingers and thick cream topping. Mimi opted for her go to dessert of a brownie with ice cream and toppings. The service is usually always friendly and great at this restaurant. We are definitely putting this back on rotation!

Very pleasant patio dining for 4 tonight. BK is a friendly, helpful server, and the seafood dishes are creative and tasty. We really enjoyed the fried okra, the bisque, and the apple pie. Try O'Shucks next time!

We ate at O Shucks for the first time at the recommendation of a close friend and how very satisfied my husband and I are with the excellent and friendly service that we received from our waitress Bridget. She was very attentive efficient and funny! She made our dining experience very good. Also our food was very delicious and fresh. We will plan on coming back soon.
BK is amazing! She gives really good suggestions and the food is so good!! We have been here twice now. We are fans for sure! There is great music and the decor is fun and laid back.
