Food is good, but the prices are outrageous.
$15 for a small brisket sandwich. That is a crime. You don’t even get a side dish. It’s not worth the cost. I ordered a chopped brisket sandwich, got home and it wasn’t chopped. Also their side dishes are not that good. Will not be be eating there again anytime soon. When I pay $15 for a $8 sandwich I expect to get what I ordered. !!!!👎👎👎👎👎

So we had reservations for Mother’s Day and they ran out of food. I wish someone would have called us and told us they ran out of a lot of the main dishes so we could have went somewhere else. The manager gave us one free meal since we did complain to him. Listen I get it’s busy it’s Mother’s Day but since we had reservations I thought we would have food. Guess not. No one was cleaning the serving spoons so they were all caked up with food that wasn’t even in the right spot. We thought we might get a piece of the blueberry cobbler nope it was peach it was just that the spoon had the leftover dessert that was gone. I feel like it’s buffet 101 make sure the utensils are clean. So if you go for the buffet on Sunday make sure your there within the first hour.

My dad took my mother, me, my brother, his wife, and my children out for the Mother's day brunch on 05/11/2025. When we arrived the restaurant was busy and my sister-in-law went inside to put us on the wait list. She asked about reservations and was informed that they do not do reservations over the phone, only on facebook and they stopped taking them on 05/06/2025. We were unware about that and she kindly informed them that not everyone has facebook, my parents certainly do not have one. We then proceeded to wait 1.5 hours for a table. When we finally were seated at 12:30, we waited another 30 minutes for a waitress to show up to order drinks and find out what exactly we were supposed to do with the stations. When the waitress did show up she looked right at me and said I guess I will take you all since no one else wants to do so. I felt extremely put out at that point but, we were hungry and so we stayed. The food was over cooked, bland, and didn't taste good at all. While my sister-in-law was getting a plate at one of the stations, she overheard the hostess talking about our table and disparaging us for not knowing about the no reservations and facebook. That is extremely inappropriate. She said nothing because she did not want to ruin my mother and my mother's day. I will not be back in anyway shape or form, nor will I ever order barbeque from them again either. Which we do on a yearly basis for father's day. Quality has gone down and so has the customer service. Don't bother eating here.

Gas station jerky is more tender and juicy than the brisket these folks put on my plate for $28. Pretty sure some of the meat we were served must have been leftovers from another day. Maybe its good if you get lucky and go when its fresh, but we aint trying to find out. You can hit about 20 other places within 10 miles of here and get better.

My chicken was bland, dry, and overcooked—like crockpot chicken breast left too long. I’ve never had unseasoned “smoked” chicken until now. I tried drowning it in their BBQ sauce to salvage it, but it didn’t help much.

My husband ordered the two-meat plate with ribs and pulled pork. The ribs still had the membrane, super dry (they just crumbled) and flavorless. The pulled pork wasn’t any better. Somehow they managed to mess that up too—it was dry, flavorless, and had an odd texture. He barely ate any of his his meat because it so bad. And he’s not one to complain—he just boxed it up to give to the dogs.

There were no smoke rings on any of the meat, which is surprising for a BBQ joint. Honestly, there was more smoke flavor in the air than in the food.

The BBQ sauce tasted generic, with a slight vinegar base—nothing special.

On the bright side, the French fries, hush puppies, and jalapeño poppers were actually good!

Couldn't get the bartender to even acknowledge I was standing there, they were busy , I get it, but not even a glance, we got seated, table was dirty, had to have it wiped clean, our server was less than desirable, our wings were supposed to be extra crispy, they were BBQed, again, I get it, a BBQ place, good flavor, fries was luke warm at best and limp, was very hungry so ate so I could get out of there, ordered 1 more beer and some unsweetened tea, no lemon, well, she brought me a 1/2 of a lemon in my tea, 🤷‍♂️, and no beer , and came back and asked her if she wanted another beer, would probably go back, because there BBQ is pretty good, but no wings, and definitely not that server ever again

Called in my order and was told it would be ready in 25 minutes. That was a lie. It took an hour and the order was wrong. I don’t mind waiting just give me a realistic time.

Wife and I went for dinner.
We wanted to try the fried pickles! Absolutely delicious and you get a skillet full of them! I had the smoked chicken breast, fries and okra. I could eat half if it because it was so much food!
Our waitress Meagan was awesome!!

This place is amazing my Server Kansas was amazing she greets me every time I come in. She works really hard and has my order ready sometimes ahead of time which is great. She knows each individual customer and gives this place a home feel to it and presents a great environment. You cannot compete with their employee it makes coming to JD easy. She gets my order right every time with the sweat heat . Best server ever Kansas

Megan really welcomed us to jd's! We had the ribs, brisket and pulled pork. The ribs were falling off the bone. My son loved the brisket. It was all delicious. They have several sauces. My favorite was the spicy sauce. My son loved the original. I want to get back and try the Alabama sauce. Definitely going to go back.

I discovered this place recently by accident, and it has the best BBQ that I've ever tasted in my life! Their brisket is full of flavor and always melt in your mouth juicy. Not to mention their pulled pork. I could eat it every day. You can really taste the hickory infused into the meat. The authenticaties of their methods, an atmosphere to match and good old fashion Southern hospitality has made this place my favorite restaurant in Woodstock. THE REAL DEAL 💯 when it comes to BBQ!
