My wife and I went to dinner here last Friday night 3/22/24. We were not expecting anything but wow, this is now our favorite restaurant. We were seated upstairs where a musician was going to play and were greeted by our waitress Bella. She was incredible. Not only was she pleasant but her knowledge and description of the food was 2nd to none! I started with a bourbon and my wife had a Georgia Peach Mule. If you like bourbon, you have hundreds to choose from! We were a little undecided about our main meal and Bella recommended the Barrumundi for my wife and Bistro steak for me. We both cleaned our plates! I saw that creme brûlée was a dessert and it did not disappoint with the 3 flavors. We met David at the front entrance and wanted him to know how great Bella was, he smiled and told us more about this restaurant. Bottom line is don’t miss out on trying a meal Rootstock!!!

How I know I am blessed part 4,284. This was the best octopus dish I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The accompanying salad was a bonus.The smoked salmon hummus is a delicious idea I would eat for lunch every day and I especially appreciate the care to the crudité‘s freshness.Finally the gnocchi carbonara is decadent and for your cardiac health, please split this dish with someone you love.

The restaurant was nice looking but the food was overpriced and very low quality and service from bartender and others was disappointing. I was brought the wrong food and they asked if I wanted that instead and of course I wanted the dish that I ordered. It took another 30 minutes to get the correct meal. So many other places in the area that are much better.

Stopped in for Sunday brunch with my beloved pal en route from ATL to near Blue Ridge. Delicious omelets and salad accompanied by creative libations. And the dessert was out of this world. The staff seemed genuinely happy to have us there—plenty of smiles and charm. By far the most outstanding service I received in ages came from our bright and great-hearted waitperson Bella. Her descriptions of menu items made us want to order everything. She was attentive without being intrusive… and personified the whole Rootstock experience: authentic, charming, guest focused, and memorable.

Let me tell you a little bub about Bella, this woman is probably the best waitress in the entire city of Woodstock. She made our entire experience feel like a million bucks. If you were ever in the downtown Woodstock area and you were hungry and looking for a little atmosphere on the weekends, get your butt over to rootstock, where Bella conserve you like royalty!
This place is outstanding! We thought we were going out for tapas, and left having a 4 course meal, and very satisfied! Paul is an amazing waiter who knows the ins & outs of the menu, and the food is amazing. Will be returning!

My first time here was amazing, truly 5/5 (amazing meal, amazing service)! Unfortunately my second time was a 2/5 (barely there bartender and burping servers in dining room), so with those two experiences we’re looking at a 3/5 overall.My first time here I was beyond impressed. I grew up in the area and haven’t been back in decades so was pleasantly surprised. We ordered a ton of apps, the burratta and lamb lollipops were divine, and we were delighted by the old fashioned list and extensive bourbon list, and found our entrees to each be flavorful and inventive. Hats off to the kitchen! David our server was incredibly professional and knowledgeable and really made our evening a 10/10 (please hire more folks like David, he gives your establishment a high level of credibility). This was Friday 1/5/24We loved the bourbon selection and flair of this place so much we decided to come back for drinks two days later on Sunday (1/7/23). Unfortunately our second time had none of this flair. We sat at the bar and from the moment we sat down (at the bar on first floor) it was obvious the bartender did not want to be there. I got the sage old fashioned and she barely burnt the leaf, nary one smile, and she def didn’t check-in (we were the only people at the bar and I had to get her attention for the check, to pay etc. it was clear she didn’t care) again David had gone above and beyond and burnt the sage table side so the smoke was apart of the first sip. Those little extra moments make this place special and without them the luster dims quickly. But what reallly takes the cake is one of the servers literally belched very loudly in the dining room. I’ve been to 30+ countries and i’ve never seen a server do this in front of customers (still shocked tbh, this place is not a dive bar guys). The bartender then laughs and says “Sarah!”, believe was her name, as if they’re at home and or fast food place. I get we were the last customers but I think releasing gas while customers are present is disgusting. So yeah that’s why i’d give my second visit 2 stars, customer service was meh/giving dive bar and the professionalism was severely lacking.So def go for table service, again David was divine, but i’d skip out on bar especially on a Sunday evening.
