Went in for a drink and some light food 12/28 around 630pm. Sat at the completely empty bar. Seemed like a bartender (young male that never told me their name) was training but the more experienced bartender (female that also never told me their name) never acknowledged me which is not great and really rude as well. Then said exp. bartenders regulars showed up and they immediately greeted them with a smile in the spot next to me. I was asked once in my hour how I was and by the time I finished my drink and food was asked if I wanted the check and had to awkwardly ask for a beer which I felt I had to chug down. So awesome. Shouldn’t have tipped at all.It’s weird to completely ignore someone sitting at your bar as you stand there cleaning, knowing they’re right there but not even acknowledging their existence and walking by them without so much as a “hey” and when I left I said “thank you” and they didn’t even look up and I tipped 20% anyways to help out a fellow service worker. Feels great.Second time there and if I want similar cuisine I’ll go elsewhere because what was up with that complete lack of guest service? That’s rude. Don’t treat your regulars like royalty after just completely ignoring someone you don’t recognize. That’s being bad at your job. Qualities you don’t want in someone tending your slow bar on a weekday to pull in guests. I won’t go to that bar again, I’ll go to sidelines next door instead thanks.Bonus points when they would only speak Spanish near me. Jokes on them though, because I can speak it too so maybe consider how you speak around all guests and not just the ones you think understand you. That’s weak and lacks awareness for someone guest-facing.This review doesn’t matter. You’ll keep them anyways. That’s the restaurant way of life.I just wanted a nice drink and some food and felt like I was imposing on their space.
