The absolute best carnitas plate I have ever had. 10/10 Perfect! The customer service is also amazing.

The food is pretty good, the waitstaff is decent, and the atmosphere is pleasant. We’re pretty picky about Mexican food since we’re used to California-style cuisine, but I have to say El Charro comes pretty close. I had the Carnitas plate—the meat was a bit on the salty side, and I wish it had been charred a little more and served with a lime slice. Overall, a solid option for flavorful Mexican fare.

Great little spot in Aiea Shopping Center by the bowling alley. We got the parillada which was very good and fed 4 people (with leftovers). Finished with flan and churros, both of which were delicious!

The food was very mid. Ordered and Michelada and it was disgusting. Got my quesabirria in cold HARDSHELL tacos. As a Mexican, I don’t understand how places like this are open on the island. Bad representation of what others consider MX food. Poor service. Poor quality food. Taco Bell is more “Mexican” than this place. The music was the only thing that made the meal bearable. Only stayed because my kids were hungry. Qué verguenza.

Great Local Mexican Spot!
Our family of five really enjoyed dining here! The restaurant is on the smaller side, but we've never had to wait long for a table, which is a big plus. The food is always fresh, flavorful and authentic - you can tell everything is made with care. The service can be on the slower side, but the staff are friendly and work hard to make sure everyone is taken care of. It's the perfect place to relax, enjoy good company, and take your time over a great meal. Highly recommend if you're craving delicious Mexican good in a cozy setting!

My favorite Mexican on island. Not greasy, homemade salsa is yummy. Great guac, and enchiladas, etc. O

CONS: no charro beans! For being called El Charro I wish they had charro beans! Also I wish the chicken had more flavor, it was kind of bland. NO chips & salsa! Unless you order it and pay extra
PROS: food was delicious & wasn’t great! Margaritas were strong. Service was good. They stuffed my enchiladas verdes and my husband’s chicken quesadillas will a lot of meat! The refried beans were really good.

I have been here multiple times and the food is always great! Excellent chimichangas, enchiladas, tacos, and burritos. Family environment and very welcoming staff. No draft beer but plenty of bottled options, domestic and Mexican.
