“So, I am a total townie. To me, going past Chinatown is going to the boonies. Going to Aiea and taking the freeway is like going to another country where you don't know how to drive. Well, I took the adventure and it was totally worth it to check out this place. Had tried before, but unfortunately, they were still closed due to COVID restrictions. After thinking about trying to go again, I found the time and couldn't believe what I was missing out on all this time. The food is just amazing. I've had Taiwanese soups of many kinds over the years, but their Cow Wow beef noodle soup was by far the best I have ever had. Lots of excellent meat, rich broth and spiced perfectly. My partner had the Fooki Belly plate and I was amazing with the pork that was so perfectly cooked and so flavorful with fatty yumminess. We also got the Grandpa Rolling Beef, which was like an Asian crepe burrito. It was fantastic as well, but didn't really need so much plum sauce on it and would ask for it on the side when we go back again. The place has a certain Asian kitschy sheik to it, like something with a Shanghai old movie feel. They are super cautions with COVID safety and maybe can ease up just a bit, but I do appreciate their efforts to keep themselves as well as their dinners safe. If this place were to open up another location in the Honolulu area, I would probably be there way to much. Maybe it is a good thing that they are out of my normal travel comfort limits, so that it makes it extra special when I go back again for their amazing food.”

“The service and food here is absolutely fantastic! The Prime Rib Loco Moco, is the star of the show. I couldn’t finish, but thoroughly enjoyed, 10 ounces, of Prime Rib, over a bed of rice, with brown gravy, and 2 eggs, over medium, on top. Welcome to perfection on a plate. My friend said the fried chicken, was the best she had ever eaten. Next time, the Nutella pancakes, with banana, or should I get the tres leches, strawberry beignets….They are open 7-3 every day. They offer three different discount discounts Monday through Friday. Military, senior (62) or Early Bird. 7-8am. Be hungry. Enjoy!”

“The food here had large portions with lots of different options. The food was okay. I got the shaka house ramen, it was spicy but that was about it for flavor, the actual broth was pretty bland and didn't stand out. The steak that is was served with was good though. It was busy when we went it was around 6:30 pm. When we were waiting for our food there was a strong crusty smell in the restaurant, me and my friends couldn't figure out what is was and it did kinda make the atmosphere unpleasant. The waitress did take a while to get to our table to take our order, and we had no idea we needed to go up to the counter to pay. Overall I would kinda recommend, only if you want big portions and mildy good tasting food.”

“Fantastic experience, the broth (we got Tonkatsu but they have nine other types) was amazing and roiling hot out of the kitchen. It's nice to be able to pick what goes into your ramen as often time at other restaurants there's always something that I'm not too big a fan of, or nothing enough of something I like. The sever was attentive and wonderfully friendly. After a tasty hot meal you get to cool down with a free shave ice dessert (with Ramen purchase) which, like everything else, was delicious. My partner got the thai tea and said it was great. For the price and the customization options, I can't recommend it enough.”

“My husband and I spent 24 hours in Honolulu and discovered this wonderful Thai Bistro! The service was very friendly and attentive to our preferences. We ordered spring rolls, brown rice, Penang chicken curry, and green curried chicken. Oh, the flavors were perfectly blended! It’s the best Thai food we’ve had outside of Thailand. “The food and fish were really good! They had many fish decorations and a mural on the wall and the pipes on the ceiling. They had two fish tanks and a large selection of foods! Their bathrooms are really good and clean. They have good sensors and the taps for the sinks have a handle. I didn’t manage to get pictures but this was really nice! (I went with 3 people, we each ordered a meal, but the thing below doesn’t show 2 of the things we got and I wouldn’t say it was lunch or dinner, it was between)”

“If you're looking for some roast pork, chicken or duck come here. It's a pick up and go place so don't expect a place to sit unless you find some outside in the plaza. If you're looking for simple, great tasting roasted meat on rice or crispy noodles this is the place. It's simple and delicious. The menu isn't extensive. Other than those roasted meats there's also ginger chicken that I particular love.

The cost of the food here is a great value as well. Each plate I got was enough to feed 2 or 3 people. I would recommend getting a mix of the meats and share. It was all good.”

“We finally tried Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodles at Pearlridge Mall, and OMG… the original pork bone soup was SO good! 🤤 The broth was flavorful and comforting, definitely one of my favorites.

We also ordered the mixed rice noodles with pig cutlet and pig’s ear, and everything was really good. We also got some dim sum on the side and honestly, we loved everything we ordered!

The place was clean, the service was awesome, and everyone was so friendly and lovely. They were very welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

This was definitely a pleasant surprise. I didn’t really know what to expect going in, but we ended up enjoying everything. If you like noodles, flavorful soups, and trying something a little different, definitely give this place a try!

I was hoping to get the ube slice of pie, but they didn't have anymore 🥺 The place is small, so there is not a seating area in or outside.”

There is plenty of hot bread and butter but EVOO to dip the bread in.
The food and gravy taste homemade.
They offer full or small plates on most dishes.
Being raised in an Italian household with a mom who was a tremendous cook, this place is a close second.

It's takeout only by the looks of it but food came out relatively quick despite my place in line and lemme tell you portions on my combo plate was heaping. From the meat jun being perfectly seasoned and caked, the Teri beef being tender seasoned yet big, the sauce being a nice kick rather than shoyu like other places this place was a welcome hit. I'd happily try the rest of my haunts on their menu and while the price is steep the portions and flavor makes the dent in my lunch budget satisfying. Definitely a return spot for me and I assume you too!”

Must try their oxtail pho! Oxtail has a lot meat and pcs. So far I have not had highblood when I finish my oxtail pho which is good that’s why I keep coming back. I know that when I finish my bowl I won’t have any problems (but that’s my experience). Pho Time is my go to for oxtail pho, bun bu hue, and pho in general.

“​Mamaya continues to be a go-to spot for good-quality, reasonably priced bentos. One of the best perks is that (if I recall correctly) any purchase around $10 or more comes with a free bottle of water. They also offer a punch card loyalty program—though I unfortunately lost mine with three stamps on it!

The shop is clean and well-organized. You start on the right side and walk around the displays to select your bento. The service is consistently friendly, and depending on the day or occasion, they’ve even been known to give out a free single spring roll with your meal.

They have a massive variety of bentos to choose from, with white and multi grain rice options available, ranging from classic local favorites to more traditional Japanese styles. On this visit, I went with the Chicken Katsu-don. For right around $10, the portion and quality were excellent. It’s definitely worth the price.

Whether you're looking for a quick lunch or a reliable dinner to take home, Mamaya is a fantastic value. Just try not to lose your punch card like I did!

“Head to Halawa and grab some lunch at Bombuchaz. We ordered the hamburger steak plate and the #3 special with beef stew, chicken long rice, and pan laulau. Yummers! The stew uses short ribs which made it even better. The flavors was spot on. We went there at 10:30 so only had about 3 people in line. I've heard they sell out so get there early and get your grub on!”

“Food: got the Ashley Don and a bento box that came with 4 Cali rolls, 2 spicy ahi Nigiri, ahi poke, and 2 ikura. Generous cuts of very fresh fish, they dont use frozen fish here. Last time I was here I watched them filet an entire giant ahi on the counter

Service: very attentive, was greeted upon entering, was seated with water and was asked if Id like anything other than water immediately, hot tea is also complimentary.

Atmosphere: clean and bright.

“The worker was so funny, I wanted to leave a review about her because she was so awesome! She had face piercings and dyed hair, brown girl, and pretty short. I got my sundae which by the way was AMAZING and her and I talked for a while i ended up losing track of time. I happened to also be in there when a big rush happened and she handled it so well. I don’t typically leave reviews but she was so sweet. A very enjoyable place and delicious desserts and even sweeter employees 10/10”
