“First time here and the employees were very welcoming and warm. The spicy ahi poke bowl is flavorful, filling, and delicious. There aren’t a lot of places to sit, and only street parking available, but the service and food quality is worth making this a local favorite lunch spot. We will definitely be back!”

“The food was off the hook, good amout for the price. Only reason i didn't give a 5 cause Customer service was bad. Even if your having a bad day, or getting slammed with orders. Atleast great the Customer with aloha or welcome. On the phone rolling his eyes, like i was interupting him. Food can be great, but Customer service can ruin the taste. Also, if ordering on the app it does ask for different amounts of tipping. I'm glad i chose the smallest. If you don't pick, it don't get the online discount....hmmm?”

“Hidden Gem in the Neighborhood! We stumbled upon Hangry Mama Bar & Kitchen last night, a true hidden gem in our neighborhood that has been delighting locals for a year now. The fried noodles, rib eye steak, and the pork belly wrap on a sizzling plate were all top-notch. The pork belly wrap with cheese and sauce was incredibly scrumptious, making a return visit inevitable to explore more of their enticing menu. The ambiance is fantastic, staff are friendly and welcoming, and the cleanliness of both the place and restroom is commendable. The AC unit works wonders, and the decor adds to the overall charm. Karaoke was a blast and a special shout-out to Shania for making our experience even more enjoyable. Thank you, Hangry Mama, for a memorable evening! Happy Holidays and wishing you all great success in the new year. ALOHA”

“Another little gem in Upper Pearl City. The lady serving the shave ice is very nice and friendly. We where the last ones to order and she was so nice, she gave us lots of samples to try from previous order that by the time our order came in, we were full from samples! The amount of shave ice is a lot ( we order a small each), should have ordered just one as it was a lot for my husband and I. The little place is cute with lots of sweet and happy decorations. Make sure to have cash at hand, because this place does not take credit/debit cards.”

“A small affair in a small strip on south side of Kam Highway in Pearl City. About 6 total tables inside. Sign in legal pad outside to get in line. Order inside at counter then food brought to you. May be a wait but very worth it. I had a ciabatta breakfast sandwich with beef bulgogi and egg and cheese and chipotle mayo. Bread tender and fresh but held together. Who does that ? It was fire. Lots of crispy tots. They were banging out what looked to be very tall and artful stuffed French toasts that I would definitely try. Hit this place.”

“Second time dining in and service is always so spot on. Offered a sample on the beer before proceeding with it, bartenders are very easy to converse with and they are knowledgeable on the drinks and food. Surprisingly happy with my Yuzu & ume whiskey sour drink, usually go for the sweet drinks but... 2024 says let's go easy on my heart and not get tachycardia. It's sour but not to the point where you find yourself making a sour face. First time ordering with them tried out their salt and vinegar chicken skin, portion wise... huge and delicious. Had enough to take home. Crispy chili pepper chicken was good too but I think we were just too "chicken" out... should've had a variety. Topped it off with fried rice kimchee. Second visit with the more diverse palette was for the win, mushroom wasn't too drenched with butter and the saimin had lots of veggies and meat, not just straight up pasta. Chinese style ahi belly was also nice, crispy on the outside but moist on the inside. Lots of sauce too if you want it a little bit more moist. Option to have a scoop of rice and things like pickled onion and kimchi can also be ordered but it's not mentioned on the menu, give it a go! Not to mention the sweet tooth, we made it to dessert (which we never do) banana & butter mochi lumpia was warm and balanced with a side of vanilla bean ice cream and side of lilikoi”

“I've tried this place several times and finally got a chance to write a review. I've always ordered the 2-choice(combination) Teishoku and tried different kinds of items. After every visit, I must say, everything was good! The quality and presentation is top notch. This time, I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and Mini Chirashi combination. The chicken was excellent. It was soft, and the teriyaki sauce was very flavorful, not overwhelming. The mini Chirashi (which was an extra charge of $4) came with ahi, salmon, shrimp, tako, and ika. Everything was fresh and tasty, especially when slightly dipped in wasabi/shoyu sauce. Tan ordered the combination salmon and spicy ahi. I had a piece of salmon, and it was cooked to perfection. The Spicy Ahi(another extra charge of $3) was also flavorful. It was more on the creamy side than on a chunky side. Both combinations were served with miso soup and a bowl of greens. Hot tea was also included. The only downside of all my visits was that they always ran out of Ahi Tempura. We came in 15 minutes after opening at 5:15 pm, and it was sold out 5 minutes prior. Hot item!! I would have given them a 4 star, but the food quality and customer service were superior. It made up for that star. It was so good we made a salmon takeout order for tomorrows lunch.”

They have 2 choice standard all you can eat or for extra $5 premium. I guess it's ok. Also the stove is way too high so it's become Inconvenience.Vegetarian options: It's okDietary restrictions: HorribleParking: Free parkingKid-friendliness: NopeWheelchair accessibility: Nope”

“Was craving some bubble tea while on vacation and found this local spot via Google reviews. We had to go up a tight ramp to find parking on the second floor, then take the elevator down to this shop which is at ground floor. We tried a milk tea and a classic winter melon tea. We found the tapioca here to be the perfect texture. They also sell little stickers but only accept cash or Venmo for those. When the lady working here found out that I was Taiwanese but didn’t have cash/Venmo, she graciously decided to gift me one anyway! So glad to have found this cute and welcoming shop!”

“No Ka' Oi Thai Food by Nattaya is absolutely legit! Food Truck is located up Kaahumanu St by the Waiau Fire Station / District Park. The ladies are super friendly and their food is "over the top!" We tried their Gai Tod (fried chicken), Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Khua Kai. Needless to say, everything was super onolicious! Everything is made-to-order so be prepared wait for your order - well worth it! Payment is cash but if you use a credit card, tax will be added to your order. Biggest problem is No Ka Oi being open for business only on Thursdays and Fridays from 11 am - 4 pm. Warning - if you come after 1:00, they are often "sold out" and will close early. So come early and enjoy!”

“L’AMI Bakery & Cafe, located inside H mart is a Good Bakery. Some of the baked goods were not put out yet and things were trickling in so I bought a selection of what was already available . I personally had the Chocolate Shell Bread. It’s much smaller than most bakeries and the bread wasn’t as soft, but the chocolate filling was generous and had a nice velvety strong chocolate taste. Very yummy. I’m not much of a cookie person but I thought the Red Velvet Cookie was very good and went well with my tea! My mom really enjoyed the Spinach and Feta Danish a lot and said it’s something she would eat again. She also enjoyed the Castella Lovely Bear & Red Bean Bun. My Sister had the Rose Lychee Ade. She said it was too sweet for her tastes but she liked the Soboro Custard Cream Bread. My nephew liked the Garlic Cheese Croissant and Castella Banana. The place was clean and seating was available to enjoy the more cold items to eat right away so I will take advantage of that when I come again to taste the fresh cream and strawberry pastries ? Mahalo for reading and hope you find something yummy to enjoy if you decide to come check it out.”

“We had avoided dining here because of the health department finding them about 5 years ago. OUR LOSS! We tried it and was blown away by the food quality and taste! The restaurant is very clean, and so is the kitchen (visible through a large window behind the cashier). I've had the Japanese teshoku shrimp and the ramen set (tried the white broth which is boiled overnight and so impressed by its taste, that I ordered it again the next time we went there). Both were excellent. They also offerbrown rice which helps my diet restrictions. They are generous with the servings. The service is friendly and professional. It's become our new "go to" restaurant.Dietary restrictions: They offer brown rice.”

“Sama Sama is amazing! I love what they are doing with unique Filipino-inspired flavors, collaborating with local artists to design cups, etc. You can tell that they use real ube, calamansi, and other actual ingredients instead of just artificial flavoring. Service is excellent too. There's no other boba/tea place on the island that does what they do! I enjoyed their drinks so much, I even hired them to cater our wedding. We had 4 flavors at a serviced bar, and it was an absolute hit. I plan to visit more often in the future and try out their coffee beverages. They also come out with new flavors every so often.”

“After a medical procedure in Pearl City, we decided to grab lunch at Daiichi Ramen. The food here was really good and the service was great. My mom really enjoyed Shrimp curry. Generous portions- crispy light battered shrimp and curry with nice chunky well cooked veggie pieces. My Mochiko chicken was yummy. Lots of flavor with the spices. My husband had the Pork fried rice with a side order of Chicken Katsu which he liked and we all three shared croquettes and gyoza. The gyoza was full of flavor and very tasty. The croquettes were good- I prefer them more on the crispy side, but it’s a minor thing. Staff was very nice & helpful. Packed my order nicely in a box taped down well for the ride home in the truck and opened the door for me to leave. The Inside was small but clean and parking was decent- gets much busier during lunchtime of course, so come earlier if decide to check it out. Mahalo for reading and have a Beautiful Day! ??”

“This gem is located in Pearl City H Mart in the food court. After some shopping with my hubby, we decided that we wanted to try the new food places in H Mart. And let me tell you this place was worth it in my books. When we approached the cashier, he was so helpful in recommending several dishes if we didn't know what to order. He also was so patient in us deciding and always willing to answers our questions about dishes. Once we decided, he took our order and gave us our number to lookout when our food was ready. As for the area, there were many tables available to sit at. I felt it did not take too long for our food to be prepared. Here's our order (my hubby and I shared): Spicy pork- not too spicy (awesome, I can't do too much spice), I loved the addition of the salad and vegetables in the spicy pork mixture. The pork was soft and tender. Cheese Tteokbokki- by far my favorite. The rice cake was soft and bouncy. The spice and cheese paired so nicely it was an addicting bite. I would order this again Although the price might seem a lot, I believe it's still worth it. If you're ever at H Mart Pearl city, check them out!”

“Love dada chicken! The only reason I don't give them 5 stars: 3/3 times I've been here the workers come strolling in at 11:10 and take 10 more minutes to count their register. On yelp it says they're opening time is 11:00. On the bright side the awesome kitchen worker has always been there before 11.”

“When was the last time you had a meal that really had an effect on you? No, I'm not talking about the last meal you enjoyed, the last time you burnt your mouth, the last time you had an overly sweet cake. I'm talking about the one that really made you have a paradigm shift in your actual life. One whose area of effect extended beyond the duration you were eating it, that embedded itself into your psyche, long after you had finished it.It's a gradually unfamiliar feeling whenever you get it, because as you grow older, that feeling becomes increasingly harder to find. Mostly because as you grow older, the more you get acquainted with the world around you, that it becomes rarer for you to find something that makes you reflect on it, to take a moment to enjoy it. Like your first bite of Kraft Mac & Cheese, or your first medium rare steak.Today, I enjoyed an extraordinary sandwich from a singularly unexpected source. To say that both the meal and its maker have challenged my preconceptions about sandwiches is a gross understatement. Sometimes a sandwich doesn't have to be a supermodel, laden with decadent, expensive ingredients, to have an effect. I was lost amidst the vast choices as I entered, but was guided through with customer service only Hawai'i could have. Equipped with the submarine sandwich and a cookie, I sat down.To say that a sandwich could fix me is absurd. But as I began my jaw workout of engulfing this tall gift from God, I had a sense of relief rush over me. My jade glasses were washed away, the world was no longer in monochrome. This toe-curling, juicy, girthy, aromatic, hefty sub was no match for my depression, my apathetic demeanor, nor my fatigue. It was a warm embrace on a summer day. A hearth in a snowy lodge. Like telling your friends you love them, instead of hiding it under your day-to-day greetings. For a little while, there were no worries of the past, present, or future. There were no nagging regrets of lost love, or a feeling of being in the wrong place and time. For a moment, I belonged where I was, in that moment. To be niche, like walking down the stairs in 'Hello, Dolly', with the theme song in the finale.Perhaps I was just hungry. Maybe I was going through it. But in this modern world of abundancy, I feel we often forget to hold onto what we find truly special, instead moving onto the next thing, always in a rush. This sandwich helped me remember that there are great things in this world, things to look forward to and to make life worth living, like spending time with good friends. It helped me remember I enjoy looking at the world through an optimistic lens. It reminded me to hold onto the bonds I've made with friends. Just because the vessel for my mental healing was in a sandwich, doesn't make the experience any less real for me.Not as a means of putting an item of monetary value on a pedestal, but to highlight an experience in my day, one that I didn't know I needed. A good meal loves you unconditionally, with a designated beginning and end. Like a soft embrace, but when it's over, there's no anguish, or conflicting feelings, just gratitude for what it was, and who it made you. Maybe I needed a reminder that we can take things that end, and see them as sandwiches. Just because I no longer have it in my hand, doesn't mean I shouldn't have ever gotten it. It is something that changed me for the better for a long time, and fulfilled me until the next meal. I don't regret getting it--rather, I'm really glad I had a good moment in my day, it was enjoyable. Things that end are not things that are bad. The end of a concert won't make fans ask for a refund. The loss of a beloved pet won't make the owner wish they had never gotten the pet. The separation from someone life-changing won't make me wish I had never gone to Lithuania. Rather, like a sandwich, I can look back with gratitude, because I enjoyed it. You have not met all the people, or sandwiches, in your life who are going to love and cheri”

She sent me the menu and helped me with the order, which was ready the next morning. The Guava Danish were spectacular!! But... if they married a cheese Danish with the Guava Danish, that would be EPIC! :) The staff were all very friendly and helpful and our staff thoroughly enjoyed the pastries! Mahalo Tiffany!
