“Went here because they serve roast duck, roast pork , oyster sauce chicken and cake noodles. Ordered the oyster sauce chicken over cake noodles and sie yuk Chinese roast pork. I was not disappointed. Good portions. Good taste. Fast and friendly service. This place has been here since the 20th century. A mainstay of pearl highlands.“

“We picked up dinner tonight and everyone was happy. That’s a miracle, considering my MIL (who used to run a restaurant) always finds something to critique. Not this time.

Crispy Gau Gee Mein, Minute Chicken Cake Noodle and Beef Broccoli were all ono. As we were picking up dinner, noticed rice cake at the register so of course, we grabbed a few. Flavor took me back to the Manapua Man days of my childhood. Portions were good size and although a few bucks more per dish than the Chinese restaurant closer to our home, it was well worth it.

Called ahead to order and our food was ready on time. Clean restaurant and the lady helping us was friendly and personable. Worth the drive (we live in Wahiawa). We’ll be back.“

“Typical Panda Express in a small strip of shops next to Walmart. Strip parking is usually available but walmart lot neighbors with lots of parking. Love the super greens option as a base. Kung pao chicken and broccoli beef are always great. It would be nice to get the brown rice back.“

“Food was good and came out quickly. Portion sizes were pretty good, and cooking seemed like it was more home-style and less tourist focused, which was appreciated. I got the beef chow fun, the person that I went with got the beef rice soup.“

“I specially went to Aloha Island Manapua bc I saw online that they make the fried ginger chicken plate on rice. I will say that they’re is better than Island Manapua in Manoa. Manoa’s was extra salty. The Waipahu location also gives more chicken & rice for $15 something. Their ginger onion sauce was dry and not liquidy and was heavy on the green onions, less ginger. Kinda weird ratio of ingredients. See from the photos.“

Eeva at the front and JN Woo made our whole experience. Eeva walked us through the entire menu, not in a rushed, order-already kind of way, but actually explaining how each dish is made and what goes into it. She was patient with all our questions and made us feel completely at home. JN Woo was just as great.

You can tell this place means something to people. There are regulars who’ve been coming here for over 30 years, and once you sit down you get why. It has that homely feel you can’t manufacture.

Eeva is genuinely a lovely human being, and honestly you can taste it in the food.

“Very small restaurant with limited parking, but the food is really good. Everything we got was delicious, except for the sesame buns. Could be because I was too full from all the food since that was the last dish to arrive. Would go back again.“

“I was visiting Oahu with my husband for a few days, and we always look for good Chinese food spots wherever we travel. Mian was amazing and definitely hit the spot. The noodles were chewy and perfect! We got the beef noodle soup, the pork dumplings, and the hot and sour sweet potato noodles. All of them were very good, highly recommend! If we lived here, we definitely would order from this establishment all of the time.“

“If you're looking for some roast pork, chicken or duck come here. It's a pick up and go place so don't expect a place to sit unless you find some outside in the plaza. If you're looking for simple, great tasting roasted meat on rice or crispy noodles this is the place. It's simple and delicious. The menu isn't extensive. Other than those roasted meats there's also ginger chicken that I particular love.

The cost of the food here is a great value as well. Each plate I got was enough to feed 2 or 3 people. I would recommend getting a mix of the meats and share. It was all good.“

“If you are looking for some Cantonese BBQ while in Honolulu, you must stop here and pick up some of this guys meat. I got a half pound of BBQ pork (char siu), half pound of roast pork (siu yuk), and a half a chicken (see yao gai). All of the dishes were well prepared, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection! You will not find anything to complain about when this meat is in your mouth! I went for dimsum at a nearby stall, and chanced upon Meimei. I took a chance and I discovered a master! “Solid dim sum. The menu has everything you would expect and what I ordered was good. Not outstanding, but solidly good. The shu mai were the best of the three dim sum I ordered, with the chicken feet food but the actual feet were very big and therefore quite tough.“

“Came here for the manapua, and we were not disappointed. They had so many different flavors! We tried all the ones they had left by the time we got there, and our favorite was the kalua pork. Smoky, moist bbq flavor in the filling with a soft bun. Super reasonable prices. We are from out of town, and found all the choices kind of overwhelming, best to look for awhile or review the menu before getting there. Service was friendly.“

“I have not been back to Honolulu for over 10yrs and this time I came back to visit with my 90yr old dad and 10yr daughter. We are from NYC/ATL in the mainland. This HK cafe was recommend by my local friends and I decided to come try their food. HK milk tea and cold lemon tea was very delicious and refreshing! the dishes tasted just as good as HK. Love the decor! We enjoyed the food so much that we came back the 2nd time around. I hope to come back again on my next future visit.“

“The food was so good and really hit the spot. Husband ordered the black garlic oil tantan ramen and I had a combo meal of egg drop soup, gyoza, and chicken katsu curry rice. We especially loved the ramen because of how strong the garlic flavor is.
Service was great, it wasn't busy so we got seated immediately and after ordering the food came out pretty fast. The servers were nice and polite as well.“

“While the food isn't the best I've had, it's definitely worth the money. The food was tasty, but it wasn't the best garlic chicken I've eaten or the best fried rice or the best hamburger steak. However, it was good enough that I would eat there again. It was nice that I could order online especially because I knew there would be little to no places to park. “We finally tried Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodles at Pearlridge Mall, and OMG… the original pork bone soup was SO good! 🤤 The broth was flavorful and comforting, definitely one of my favorites.

We also ordered the mixed rice noodles with pig cutlet and pig’s ear, and everything was really good. We also got some dim sum on the side and honestly, we loved everything we ordered!

The place was clean, the service was awesome, and everyone was so friendly and lovely. They were very welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

This was definitely a pleasant surprise. I didn’t really know what to expect going in, but we ended up enjoying everything. If you like noodles, flavorful soups, and trying something a little different, definitely give this place a try!

“Wow! If you like Chinese food with heat, this is the place. My gf and I went there for dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. She loves spicy foods, and there are very few places that surprise her. I told her about this place and she doubted the spice level. She was wrong! The heat was great and really pleased her.

We ordered the string beans, spicy chicken feet and a pickled cabbage with fried rice balls.

The string beans were perfect! The taste was delicious and the heat perfect! Next, the chicken feet arrived. This had a lot of heat to it and the taste was sublime. My gf loved this and she said the chicken feet were perfect. As for myself, I like fatter chicken feet that are more tender with less chewing. The last course to come was the pickled cabbage with fried rice balls. It was spicy as well. Lots of heat from the cabbage. What surprise us was the frird rice balls. It is not what you think they are. It is actually like mini gin dui. You have a mix of savory, sweet and heat.

This was a great find in an off the beaten path place. You order off a qr code, which works well. Unfortunately, the restaurant staff doesn't speak much English, but they do use a translator app. Service can be a little slow. One thing that really surprised me was the portion size. They are huge! They are about 50% to 100% more food than other restaurants. And the food is delicious!“

“Ordered their roast pork and char sui. It is the best! They do run out so it is best to call before heading out in the afternoon; especially on the weekend. (Learned the hardway...picked up after lunch and decided to get more. It was about 3pm - ran out! Maybe had a big take out order?)

“I’m gonna round up to five stars and give benefit of the doubt for other items. A bowl of Ramen is $15-$23. I feel like the portion size was very hearty. I had the black garlic Ramen with pork. The amount of pork was great for the bowl. They were open a little bit later till 10 PM which was nice coming in after a long flight. The lady who helped was friendly. I come here again.“

“I started working in this area three months ago and Mini Garden Express was recommended to me by my predecessor as a good value for occasional “staff” takeout dinners. I was warned, however, that there was an employee there who really hated itemized receipts. Sure enough, after sending a staff member to pick up dinner with the company debit card (which requires itemized receipts), he returned with four plates and an itemized receipt but he begged to never be sent there again unless we paid cash/didn’t need the itemized receipt. I went myself the next time, so I could witness this employee’s intense dislike of itemization. Upon leaving, I told everyone we were taking them off the list because I didn’t want to subject anybody else to an experience like that.

All that being said, my “boycott’ lasted approximately five days before the requests (and my cravings) for Mini Garden Express cake noodle became too much. I now pay cash and pretend like the debit card experiences never happened. THAT’S how good their char siu cake noodle and minute chicken cake noodle are. I’m pretty sure their 98 other menu selections would be equally good…..just don’t ask for an itemized receipt unless you REALLY need it.“

“If you're dining here, don't skip the Egg Drop Soup. The broth is rich and comforting, and the delicate strands of egg make every spoonful satisfying. It has a clean, fresh taste that feels both nourishing and delicious. A perfect start to an excellent meal.“

I appreciate that they got rid of the number system and since Covid the crowds have gone down big time so everytime it's smooth sailing. Da aunties behind the counter always hook it up with big portions as always whether it's the new bowl or plate etc. While I admit I miss the furikake fried rice and the fact that spicy garlic and minit chicken is not always available and is now made to order only I do appreciate the transparency and relatively fast speed that it does come out as I can't leave without it. Also for someone who's been here forever I can't for the life of me think of why I didn't try the gau gee sooner as this is the bomb and for the price one of the best I had easily! “This little hidden gem is the best! We visited this centrally located spot during our trip to Oahu. It is a mom and pop owned shop with delicious, fresh, and authentic Chinese food. Our favorites were the potstickers were so fresh and crispy (they make them homemade!) and the beef and broccoli.

The people there are happy and friendly, and the place has very nice vibe. They have nice bento selection too. “Fantastic experience, the broth (we got Tonkatsu but they have nine other types) was amazing and roiling hot out of the kitchen. It's nice to be able to pick what goes into your ramen as often time at other restaurants there's always something that I'm not too big a fan of, or nothing enough of something I like. The sever was attentive and wonderfully friendly. After a tasty hot meal you get to cool down with a free shave ice dessert (with Ramen purchase) which, like everything else, was delicious. My partner got the thai tea and said it was great. For the price and the customization options, I can't recommend it enough.“

We stumbled on this place while checking out Chinatown in Oahu.
This is not a restaurant, this is a Cheung fun factory, they make the fresh rice rolls wholesale for other restaurants!
We made soup noodles out of their plain noodles (look fun) it was incredibly fresh and delicious. The noodles held their shape, they are made in the very old fashioned Cantonese way!
We really appreciate the attention to authenticity, much better than all of the Chinatowns in other parts of the world that we have visited!
We loved our first visit so much, we returned to buy 2 char siu and 1 ha mi Cheung fun!
They are massive and for the price, it's an insane deal! They're tasty, they're fresh , they have the perfect bouncy texture! They did have small packets of soy sauce to eat with it as well!
It's just like the old fashioned, dim sum restaurant in Asia.
I don't think you can find this anywhere else!

“This little “hole-in-the-wall” I’ve been coming to for years, possibly decades, but I haven’t been since new ownership took over. I was hesitant because the previous owners I’ve gotten to know over the years and they put so much effort into their food… I’m happy to report that the food is just as good!I ordered the soup noodles with pork and pickled vegetables and it was like I remembered. The soup base was delicious and the noodles cooked perfectly. I also order the salt & pepper chicken wings for good measure and those were great too!If you have a craving for HK-style cafe food, this is the spot to visit!“

The woman working did a great job taking care of the front of the house by herself on a busy Friday with 2 full 12 top tables, a couple of random walk-ins plus lots of take out orders. BYOB and BYOD (dessert) 😊 The order-ahead honey BBQ pork ribs are a MUST!
