I have not been back to Honolulu for over 10yrs and this time I came back to visit with my 90yr old dad and 10yr daughter. We are from NYC/ATL in the mainland. This HK cafe was recommend by my local friends and I decided to come try their food. HK milk tea and cold lemon tea was very delicious and refreshing! the dishes tasted just as good as HK. Love the decor! We enjoyed the food so much that we came back the 2nd time around. I hope to come back again on my next future visit.

The flavor is a little bit softer, but still close to the dishes in Hongkong.
The restaurant here has a real Hong Kong vibe! I especially love the ovaltine toast with condensed milk and the wonton noodles. I'll definitely be coming back often.

HK CAFE is a small, no-frills Chinese spot in Honolulu’s Chinatown that serves delicious and authentic Cantonese homey food. The restaurant has limited seating and is often packed with local Cantonese speakers, which feels like a good sign of authenticity. The menu offers great value and generous portions. Popular dishes include the satay beef noodle soup with many noodle options, the omelette special with beef and black pepper sauce described as ultimate comfort food, the brisket and tendon noodles with life-changing depth of beef, beef chow fun with soft and tender beef, and Cantonese fried rice that is light and fragrant. The HK milk tea is legit and hard to find overseas. The workers are really nice, though service can be brutal as one woman runs the entire show, leading to long waits and little attention. The shared bathroom is outside with a locked entrance, but it is pretty clean. Overall, incredible food with authentic atmosphere, but do not expect smiles or fast refills.
