“Impeccable service, it took less than 8 min from when we walked into the door to us getting our delicious, steamy plates. Despite the restaurant being full, our glasses were always filled and it wasn't too noisy. Food was rlly good and price was decent.
Much love from Montreal🇨🇦❤️“

“If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
.
Old school saimin places are just so hard to find and Palace Saimin hits in all the right places. The menu is short selling only saimin, udon, wontons, and beef sticks. Telling by how packed this place is - they're doing something right!
The menu and it's reasonable prices are obviously working so if you're in the area on a cold, rainy day I'd encourage you stop on by!
My favorite menu item is definitely the 4.00 USD beef sticks. Pair it with your complimentary side of hot mustard and your favorite bowl of soup - YUM!
.
Parking and indoor seating space is limited. Service is quick. Staff are friendly. Card and cash accepted.“

“Great homey spot for happy tummies. They have all sorts of local favorite plate lunches, Japanese, and burgers. They also have daily and weekend specials.
The prices are also pretty good for a sit down restaurant ~
$14-20+ ish.
Todays meal:
We decided to try something new. Fried Chicken and waffles and a Kids Hamburger Steak.
The fried chicken are small pieces, prob the same as their crispy shoyu chicken with four fat mini waffles with powdered sugar sprinkled all over.
The chicken is super crispy with a great crunch, albeit a few pieces maybe over cooked a bit as they were dry inside. The waffles were fluffy and great dipped in the syrup.
The hamburger steak was a big and fat patty. We asked for gravy all over and son son loved it.
Some of our other favorites are the Fried rice omelet with pork adobo, oyakodon, and our almost always usual the crispy spicy shoyu chicken.
The servers are always polite and friendly, sort of reminds me of aunties.
We'll definitely be back for more meals here.“

“Our first time here and wished it was at the beginning of our visit because we would make sure we ate there again. This will definitely be our go to place when we visit the island again.“

“I cannot believe it took me over SEVEN years on island to finally eat here—like, how did I miss this?! This spot in Aiea is a total hidden gem and exactly what I’ve been craving ever since my trip to Singapore. It’s similar to mala tang in that you get to pick your own veggies, meats, seafood, etc. to build your soup. The broth options are a little different though—no mouth-numbing mala like you’d find at YGF Mala Tang—but honestly, I didn’t mind one bit.
The spicy pumpkin soup base was perfection: creamy, flavorful, with just the right kick. It didn’t overwhelm my palate or leave me feeling heavy, and it tasted cleaner (less oily) than other broths I’ve tried. If you’re into creamy soups, the pumpkin base is a must-try!
Service was solid too. They refilled my water without me asking and even let me choose my seat (I was the first customer before the evening rush lol). The space was roomy, spotless, and you can tell it’s a true mom-and-pop operation—genuine care for both the food and the customers.
I’m already planning to come back this week because I cannot stop thinking about that pumpkin soup.
Oh, and if soup isn’t your thing (or if Hawaii’s heat has you craving something else), they’ve got chicken katsu with curry, stir fry, and other specialty dishes too.
VISIT. Seriously.“

“Food: the miso ramen combo with fried rice and gyoza is a nice bang for your bucks. Ramen is decent, gyoza is crispy in texture and fried rice is flavorful!
Service: our waitress was friendly and attentive. Great customer service 🤙🏻
Atmosphere: a typical ramen restaurant. Noise level is low --easy to carry conversation with your party.“

“I came here with two of my girlfriends for a very anticipated late night dinner after a long day. We all liked our food— I ordered the vegetable ramen with miso broth, my friend got the spicy pork ramen, and my other friend got the tonkatsu— the portions were good, price was good, and the service was stellar. They played a small game with me at the end after I paid for the check, where I won a bar of soap & I thought that was so cool and a cute way to end the meal!!!! I would definitely come back here again. One of the few places open late on this side of the island as well!“

“Visited this place twice and enjoyed it both times. Their menu suggests a recommended extra topping for each ramen, which I think is worth the extra 2 dollars or so. The first time, I had a chicken soup ramen with wontons and chili oil (the extra topping). I enjoyed the wontons and the fried onions. The spicy ramen went well with the calpico drink I got, which was sweet with a yoghurt flavor. The second time, I had calamari appetizer with spicy mayo, and the tanaka classic ramen with parmesan cheese powder (the extra topping). It had a very creamy tonkotsu broth with char siu pork and lots of fried onions as well. The cheese mostly sank to the bottom of the soup but that was alright. The food is on the salty side but quite delicious overall. Had a strawberry ramune with that, which is a soda with a marble covering the top.“

“The pictures of the school girls on the wall are strange
We got the two specials - fried snapper on fried rice and the dim sum trio
Of the dim sum trio, only the lobster siu mai were memorable. I recommend that. Otherwise a bit steep for the price $30 for 6 bites.
The snapper and fried rice were tasty but the rice portions were tiny for the price $32“

“Searched a local mom n pop shop, came across this for a quick bite, loved it, get the combo, you can split rice and ramen and get 4 gyoza on top of it for about $16 bucks. Got very busy after and they were still able to serve and get food out to everyone probably withing 5-7 minutes. Would come back !“

“Service was off the charts wonderful! I had the shrimp fried noodles, shrimp was cooked perfectly, huge portion! Absolutely delicious across the board. Don't hesitate to come here, reasonably priced for the portions. We had a party of five. We'll visit here when we visit the islands again. All the good was delicious 😋“

“A solid ramenya inside the Lanai at the mall. This spot offers a variety of ramen options. Prices are a bit on the higher side but the bowls come in larger portions. I went with the half size spicy tan tan ramen with char siu which was perfect since I wasn’t too hungry. Otherwise the regular size would have been the way to go. The char siu pork was tender with a light chew while the noodles were al dente though thinner than I would have preferred. The real star was the broth which was flavorful, balanced, not overly salty or spicy, and tied the whole dish together beautifully. Seating is limited at the counter but you can always use the Lanai food court area if you prefer.“

“First off let me say the customer service is the top experience I have had in a very long time! Amazing food! Char siu is so soft and not overly fatty. Prices are amazing as well. Definitely going back when on this side of the island👍🏻“

“The price to food ratio is honestly the best I've seen on this island and I'm impressed. Even better is the food itself. I expected a ramen place to have okay garlic chicken, but it's 100% worth getting if you ever stop by as it's in my top 3 places for it now.
The ramen is also delicious, and is worth stopping by for after a long day at work. The staff is great too, making sure our water is filled and just being nice in general. I recommend visiting this place at least once if you're near.“

“What a lovely, small, and quaint spot! Every time I crave Japanese food, this place transports me right back to Japan. The food is consistently excellent; it truly never disappoints. My favorite items for a to-go plate are the incredible chicken karaage and the flavorful ginger pork. While I haven't had a chance to dine in yet, I feel confident giving it a strong rating. The staff is always so welcoming and friendly during every takeout experience.“
“I have been here twice; once for breakfast and once for plate lunch. Both were solid meals, good portions and I got out under $15. I had a Portuguese sausage omelet for breakfast and chicken katsu curry for lunch. The picture is half way through the regular size portion. The interior doesn't have a lot of seating but it's clean and air conditioned.. . I highly recommend this Ewa Beach hole in the wall. Plus they cater. Ono-licious.“

“Went to Sun Noodle today(Saturday) because my daughter wanted a ramen bar for her Birthday tomorrow. The nice lady upstairs in the office helped me pick out a specific type of noodle from their product catalog after I described what type of noodles my daughter likes and she also explained to me how the numbers of the noodles correspond to the thickness. I got 15 orders ( 3, 5 packs) of freshly made noodles, tonkotsu and tan tan broth to go with it. Ordering was super easy, you go back downstairs to the outside, walk to the right, press the buzzer on the right hand side of the adjoining warehouse, another girl came out with my order, processed my credit card payment and off I went. Fast, simple and very economical. This was my first time going there although we eat ramen everywhere Sun Noodle distributes their noodles. Love their products, will surely go there again to stock up on my daughter's favorite food, Ramen!!!“

“Service was incredibly prompt, courteous, and food came out quickly. We got a bowl of black garlic ramen, sides of fries and chicken katsu, edamame, and a big bowl of fried rice for about $50. My family of 4 left stuffed and happy. Absolutely everything was prepared to perfection. Even the fries were excellent! We're so glad we stopped in!“

“Our first stop in Hawaii after catching my high school basketball game was at Ramen Ya in Ewa. These restaurants offer a variety of local comfort food and you can do combos if you can’t make up your mind. We had pan fried gyoza as an appetizer. I haven’t had Mochiko chicken so thats what I ordered… plates in Hawaii usually come with white rice and macaroni salad. My son ordered the spicy ramen. The portions are huge so you have to have a big appetite or you’re taking leftovers home. The food was very good, we eat here every time we visit, my son ate here all the time when he was stationed at Hickam AFB. The restaurant is not very big and its no frills decorated which is standard for these kind of restaurants. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the prices for Hawaii are good. Definitely recommend this place if you’re hungry….“

“Good if you want ramen and something quick. I came here on my break and ordered a sukiyaki ramen with a side order of kakiage tempura. Food came out in about 3-4 min. Ramen is standard, nothing too special about it. I was disappointed in the kakiage tempura because it was soggy right after I received it.“

“Open air food court. I went early and it was not noisy yet. Ordered the the Special Miso Ramen. Wow. What got me was the amount of Charsiu included. Had 6 good size pieces, soft and tasted great. Was not chewy at but all. Miso broth was a little thin, but when I mixed in the butter wow the broth came alive and thickened up to my liking . Nice picrc of Bamboo Shoots and not the thin slices you get elsewhere. Corn, geen onions and bean sprouts piled in rounded out everything. I enjoyed the bowl of Ramen immensely also because I'm a big fan of Charsiu which made they had more then many other Ramen shops I've been to. I'm going back soon
Parking: I was in the Handicapped space and there was no charge on the ground level“

“USED to be the BEST ramen in Ala Moana until they changed their menu. The old thick noodles are chewy and had a rich wheat taste you can even do take out 30mins later it still tastes amazing. The old Jiro style ramen with massive amounts of pork fat floating on the soup is so beautiful and delicious.
Until they replaced them with weird somen. Thin and lacking chewiness, it softens quickly. The new soups are just flavorless.
If one day the old menu is back then it’s a MUST TRY“

“🍜 OX TAIL RAMEN SPICY – Recommended
The oxtail clear broth with a touch of spice is light and flavorful. It’s not overly heavy, and you can adjust the seasoning to your preference. The noodles are chewy and have a great texture.
🌶 SPICY RAMEN – Not Recommended
A bit too salty, and the portion of meat is very small.
Overall, prices are on the higher side. If you go, I’d definitely stick with the OX TAIL RAMEN SPICY.“

“It is hard to get a good meal in the mall's food court, but I must say that the Champon here is very good and a healthier option that fills you up and is tasty as well. I got the Fujiyama Champon which is their largest portioned Champon. It is loaded and you need to be hungry for it. I must admit that I had big eyes when I ordered it and couldn't finish it. What I like most about order Champon is that it is made fresh, packed with lots of veggies, not oily or heavy, and tastes great. Much rather have this then Ramen which is just noodles, an oily and salty broth, and a some meat. Being that this is in the mall food court, it isn't exactly going to be the type of place that has a bend of backwards type of service, but they are friendly for the most part and get your order right.“
